Lucid and have control but not full control

For some reason when i have lucid dreams, (That i rarely have) Everything is fast paced and i dont really have control over whats going on but i still have control. I usually run around in these dreams and do a bunch of random things but i am lucid because i can still command myself to spin or shout commands, but when im not really making myself to do stuff i run around and try to do as many random things possible and im not really controlling myself to do these things but still in control. Could trying to do so many things at once be affecting how long my LDs last? (Mine last about 5 minutes T.T). If i figured out how to WILD would my LDs become longer and i have more control? (Only DILD has worked for me). Is there something i can do to have full control and longer lucids? Any help would be appreciated =)

Why are you running around? Sounds like you are trying to get too much done through fear that the dream is going to end!

Try slowing things down, walk slowly, touch things, examine things in your dream! Let the scenario build and create this vivid dream and when it is stabilised and you can clearly see the dream you are in, then take full control.

I think your right about me fearing the dream is gunna end so i rush to do any random thing i can. If i tried to take in things at a slower pace i might just end up doing everything fast again. Its like im a different person in my LDs, or maybe i really dont have control at all and when i do things like spin or around or do reality checks, theyre just things that i kept in mind for when i have a lucid dream so i do them automatically while i still dont really have control. Anyways thats what im thinking... I'll just hope i calm down a bit with experience because i havent had much LDs to begin with

I've in the same boat... relatively few dreams so far and always fast paced and almost outta control.

What I am gonna try and do is be very assertive when I first slip into lucidity... just yell out loud with as much conviction I can muster "I am in control" or something to that effect. I've been reading around and it seems to have great results for other people. Maybe its worth a shot?
