Another control question

Here is an example of what happens...I"m in my LD...I want my hair to be long, and dark....Ok...got it...then I want to be wearing a black dress...but no...the dress is red & gold.....so I try harder..I even speak aloud looking at myself in the mirror.."I want a black dress" the image will flicker between the red & gold dress and the black dress....finally....after repeating....I get my black dress! What is up with that? How can I get what I want a little easier? I have been having LD's for several years..and I have them on a weekly basis....but still struggle with certain things....another is flying...I can jump straight up and hover, or keep going up....even kinda float around...but if I try to fly Superman style....it's BAM....straight to the ground!!!!
