      First Lucid Dream

I just had my first Lucid Dream last night after reading on the website and forums and trying on and off for about 2 weeks now. I analyzed my dream signs and told myself that this is a dream and boom it just happened it felt like I had total control and it was just like real life except I can do anything now. So I just started moving around and observing everything because before it was like I was just watching what happened through my eyes in the dream. This lasted for a very short time and then I woke up. I'm not sure why it was so brief perhaps something woke me up like a sound in my house but I was wondering if anyone could help and give any suggestions on how to maintain the dream longer.

to Dreamviews, and Congratulations on the lucid dream!
Rubbing your hands or spinning your dream body are popular ways to maintain the dream. Also, try taking a good long look around the dreamscape, and fully convince yourself that it is a dream.

Welcome and congratulations on your first LD!

You might try touching things (I mean really "feeling" them) to first stabilize your dream. Get into how they feel.. are they hot, cold, smooth, rough, etc. Just touching things often helps me remain in a dream longer.

Thanks for the advice, yeah I'll try both of those methods.
