Control w/o Lucidity

I decided to post this here because I believe it fits. I have had 2 dreams in the last month where I wan't lucid, but I had control. Meaning I could do the impossible, but I believed it was real and, well normal. The first was simply making a disappeared bug reappear. But last night I was able to take a simple 2001 white F-150, and extend the cab and the bed, and add all the features I wanted it to have. I don't even particularly care for trucks, hehe.

But I guess the point I wish to make, or rather ask a question: do many of you all have dream control without lucidity? My mom and my brother say they do all the time.

Just curious. I sure wish that when that happened, I could become lucid. As long as I'm controlling the dream, it would be nice that I be lucid and enjoy it more!

do you mean if we can do impoosible stuff in our dreams without being lucid? if so: when i think about it i dont do that... of course strange things happen, but nothing beyond the laws of fysics...

Yup. That's alot of mine where I'm not lucid. XD....I can fly and....i made a person blow up once...o.o.....There are other things that I can do but I forgot...xD...Then if I'm in a lucid dream I can only slighty hover a few feet above the ground..xD

EDIT: Would having super strenth count as control? xD..I was a TV show charactot and I had super strenth, agilty, and other things

Well, yeah, I get that sometimes. It happens when I'm in an impossible situation, something that could never happen in real life. When I was younger it happened when I had nightmares.
I don't turn lucid, but I can make stuff happen. Usually I simply chose to wake up.

Yeah, I get those kind of dreams occasionally. The powers that I do get though are mostly Telekinetic, Light energy, and stopping time powers. I can safely say that those are my most favorite dreams :P

Sometimes i use telekinesis in my dreams... Usually they are about sport, and I can manipulate sport equipment, like basketballs, tennis balls and so on... And of course I beat opponent's team :D

It is really fun, cause I"m in control, yet I never question *why* I can manipulate objects with such ease...

I have been thinking about this a while now...and i have the same concerns you do.

For the past few months, i have had little LD's, but most of my dreams, i am in partial control. Whether they are low level lucid dreams or not, i feel that in the dreams that i am not conscious that i am fully dreaming, i know in the back of my head somehow that i can control it!

I suppose it is the consciousness trying to wake up in the subconscious world.

I can only remember one dream where I had powers when I wasn't lucid, I was able to shoot webs out of my hands like spiderman and swing into the sides of buildings.

The spiderman one is great fun - I found it difficult to get the swing right without whipping round the side of buildings. This is an example of control w/out lucidity. For me the experience is of levels of lucidity. In a 'normal' (!??!) dream there is always some degree of control, in the way that we have control in waking life with varying degrees of lucidity/ consciousness/ awareness. Many actions can be done almost entirely automatically - like walking or even flying. At the other end of the scale of lucidity is the fully lucid dream where absolutely everything is under control - the environment, characters, laws of physics etc.. (except for the occassional 'sneaky dream person'!). For me the most useful and exciting dreams are somewhere inbetween. When I realise I am lucid I often make the decision to not control the whole dream - just my own actions (which can include breaking the laws of physics/ doing magic). This way the dream seems more real and I feel I can learn lessons (e.g. overcomming fears) without cheating i.e. its not overcoming fear to make the monster evaporate/ explode, although it is empowering!

I know...I had one dream where I found spiderman type gloves and I have all of the spiderman powers...that was fun! o.o. I wonder why some people have alot of control non lucid dreams and others don't.

I have dreams like that. I find that I become lucid from my control sometimes. I had two dreams about spider-man. One was where I had the gloves but then a couple of bullies stole them (eyes Remus :lol: )and I fought them but even though I was winning they kept managing to get away with it. Then I got drafted into this military thing and I was hunting down this guy by flying and shooting fireballs or something to that effect. In the other I was spider-man but it was like secret window, with the split personality popping up. I was the Peter Parker personality and the one popping up was the spider-man personality.

I often have control without lucidity. It happens randomly and unintentionally.

LDGuy was talking about split personalitys and I've had those in dreams too.

The most personalities I've had in a dream were three. :roll:

How weird--I had a Spiderman dream when I was a little kid. Basically, I just had the web-shooters, but that was enough to stop some bank-robbers (I was kind of a security guard in red-and-blue footy p.j.s, with web-shooters). It's one of maybe ten dreams I remember from childhood. Does Spiderman have some kind of Jungian resonance, or what?

On-topic, I was just posting about non-lucid control in another thread. I haven't had an LD longer than a minute or two in months, or very clear dream recall, but the last few nights my recall's way up, and last night I found myself gliding along a highway bridge at the speed of traffic, but without a car. I thought there was something a little weird about that, so when I flew off the bridge I didn't panic, but thought, "I'll bet I can deal with this," and slowed the fall, then attracted myself toward the nearest thing sticking out of the water. I missed, but after a couple sorta-levitating passes, I managed to get to dry land.

This "loose control" often means an LD is around the corner, for me. I'll have dreams where I realize that I'm in a reality where I can fly, or whatever, and lucidity steps up a notch, then I think, "wait, I've been in this reality before..." and now there's some critical thinking going on, and if I don't wake up, then the next logical step is, "Hey, I'm dreaming!"

Isnt it the weirdest thing? I can be doing all sorts of crazy things, like last night there was this giant soft furry spider, about the size of a basketball, nuzzling around my legs. At first I was alarmed, but it seemed friendly so I stroked it and it purred like a cat! I didnt question this for one moment though... so much for dream signs... :roll:

Once in a dream I discovered that I could teleport if I lay down, close my eyes, and well...just teleport. I went from one couch in my hosue to the couch upstairs. Funny thing, I got excited as if it happened in real life. I thouhgt I unlocked some key to the universe. Then I realized i had magical powers beyond that. Never r ealized it was a dream, til I woke up. You can imagine how dissapointed I was.
