      Vibrations for Lucid Dream Induction

The concept of vibrations is that at some point while we are falling asleep or waking up there is a sensation of intense vibration that in many people may lead to OBEs. Whatever you choose to beleive, vibrations themselves are REAL and there are both scientific and paranormal explanations for them. Personally I beleive that vibrations are experienced because you are coming out of sensory perception and entering dream perception for your sense of touch, so the vibrational feeling is a feeling of "feeling nothing" for a few seconds while it "plugs in". With this in mind vibrations occur a few times a night, but we are asleep and do not notice them.

Whatever you beleive, I discovered recently that they can also induce ready made lucid dreams! Most of us don't feel vibrations when we wake from a lucid dream, but I did once and I kind of "rode" them, concentrated on them, and within a few seconds a brand new dream materialised around me. And it wasn't short either, I got a lot done and the dream was definately over 2 minutes long! It's hard for me to explain how to do this, but if you feel vibrations and stay calm, concentrating on them, you might just be able to save yourself from waking up! It truely was a great experience.

I've also used vibrations to go into a lucid dream.

      Thumbs up

wow...this is INSANELY crazy for me to read right now.

Last night after I was attempting a method of relaxing and counting while I fell asleep...I felt an intense vibration on on my inner left thigh.. it was so intense it 'woke' me up I had no idea what to make of it at the time.

I had never read anything about vibrations until now...this is so cool!

So my LDs are ridiculously short. My longest was up to 10 minutes but that was only because I kept losing and gaining lucidity in the same dream. I had about a 5-6 min one once too but I couldn't seem to do anything.

The only way I can WILD thus far is by feeling and giving into vibrations. But it's not easy to get into a state where I can experience them before I completely fall asleep.

I'm gonna try and get those vibrations tonight though. Last time it happened was after a failed FILD attempt, so I want to see if I can do something like that again - barely keep myself from attaining REM for a couple of hours, then maybe do a short WBTB, then finally let myself fall asleep.

No dream goals at the moment...just flying and letting stuff happen is kinda fun, and it's hard to motivate myself to try LDing lately.

Hey guys. I think the vibrations you are all talking about are the result of sleep paralysis (sp). I had them last night myself, and yes, I certainly entered a lucid dreaming state as well. In fact, a whole part of the WILD process involves inducing sp, and riding out the vibrations until you are in a dreamscape.

Also, Idolfan, I too have heard that these vibes can lead to an OBE, but I'm still working on that. If you do manage to get a successful OBE, please post all about it in the Beyond Dreaming forum, so we can all read about your experience.
