Trouble controlling when lucid

I have been getting better at getting a lucid dream but i always have trouble controlling the dream. The one thing i seem to be able to do is fly, but it is usually slow flying and not particularly fun. When ever i go lucid i always do a reality check, then if i try summoning something it doesn't work. If i try shooting an energy beam out of my hand, it doesn't work. After they dont work i always do another RC and even though the RC fails and i know im in a dream, i can't even change the scenery. I have tried some of the techniques from this site but they dont seem to work.

Does anyone have any advice to help me become more in control of my dreams?

If you want total control in your lucid. Than forget the sences u use in your daily lifes. Forget that u are in ur physical body. Make ur self clear in ur LD. That you are free, A energy floating and controling everything. Let that though's inspire your desire to control. Eventually you will brake the barrier , and control what u desire by letting go ur physical barriers.

I have the same trouble as you. The only difference with me is that my flying is super fast, and it makes me feel tired quickly and I lose lucidity. :(

how about this one? For many moons I have had a reliable RC. I simply levitate. In August I had a long and invloved LD where I used several controll techniques. It ended with me trying to confront a terrifying growl from behind my neck.

Since then I have recognized that I was dreaming 3 times but when I go to levitate, to do my reality check, it doesn't work. I can't levitate. I get an energy tingle in my dream self instead and since that is similar to somethign that happens to me in real life it is not a clear indicator. Have you ever had a reliable RC that suddenly lost it's
