keep trying different ways of spinning
spinning didnt work for me till i started putting my head down
Or verbal commands. :)
I just concentrate harder.
Though on occasion, my loss of lucidity (i.e. when I'm about to wake up) is symbolized by my dream being ripped away from around me. I have, on a few occasions, physically grabbed what was left of my dream and either pulled myself back into it or wrapped it around me.
just concentrate.. by spinning or doin some crazy shit.. your most likely going to lose lucidity.. summon a person and try to talk to them. Any sex stuff will usually wake up if you are LDing late in the morning.. but if your doin an LD in an early sleep cycle.. you won't wake up on hardly anything.
If your in a bad situation.. and need to change shit.. spinning just isn't the way. BLINK! :o , cause you don't have to move, yet you can change the most minor of things.. squeeze your eyes and focus anger correctly to have either a false or a real awakening.
No.. i'm not post hoarding.. I remembered a great thing..
Do stuff you've never done before, eat, use the phone. I'm tryin a computer next time hehehe..
Sory for double post.. I know theres a way to edit, but whatever.
well I am always lucid in some form or another, but when it comes to hi res lucidity, my best way to stay lucid is to not notice that I'm lucid at all and to think everything is normal, because the second I realize that Im lucid in a dream it fuzzes, and NOTHING works to bring it back except to forget that I'm dreaming.
I chose "other" because it only happened once, and that would be staring into a mirror.
Course you need a bloody mirror now don'tcha :? .
I've tried to keep my lucidity only twice.
I tried spinning and kept the lucidity for a little while longer.
I've also tried jumping. but that just woke me up immediately.
I just run like mad, jump off a ledge and start flying. And if t comes down to it, spinning really fast works well.
Spinning has never worked for me yet.
Even trying it at the start of an LD on purpose. I got just a blank dream and ended up waking up.
I'll try blinking next.
Other .... oddly enough, i've been lucid since i was seven; and once the lucidity starts, it continues until the alarm clock sounds its joyous and irritating sounds. For the most part, i sit back and enjoy the ride, occasionally influencing the direction of the flow.
Looking at my hands always seems to make things more stable. Using verbal commands or spinning makes me loose it straight away without one exception. I do not try those anymore. If i want something to appear i visualise it rather than asking for it to be there too, verbal commands sux for me.
Peace Sensi.
Personally I find rubbing my hands a very effective way to keep up with lucidity. Spinning works for me too, but it usually changes the environment.
I relax dont try to fight it close my eyes and concetrate on the self then my dreamscape changes to what im internaly thinking about and the old unstable one causing problems is gone :-)
I usually try and hold an object from my dream very tightly until the dream starts to solidify again or if I don't have an object readily available then I grab a fistful of carpet...grass...etc.
I always pick an object up--preferably a unique feeling one. Dirt clods for example; focusing on the texture of the object helps restore lucidity for me.
That thing about texture helps. I stare at the ground, and make sure I can see every grain and piece of grass clearly, until the dream unblurs. Staring at my hands works too, but WHAT DO YOU DO IF YOU ARE FLYING? I have only lost lucid control in midair.
Hm...good question. Catch a duck or something?
Spinning seems to work for me. Whenever I spin though the scenery changes, it also helps as a reality check/test when i'm debating on whether i'm lucid or not.
The one time I actually managed to keep myself in a dream after the inevitable wake-up process started was to focus on the view directly in front of me, which was a late evening skyline with some trees and houses (my neighbourhood). The moment I moved my eyes though everything was getting blurry, so I had to stand there, motionless and in deep concentration. I STILL woke up after about 30 seconds.
And I had a lucid dream today too, I tried shouting "increase lucidity" but I started it too late. Maybe if I remembered it earlier, I would've manage to keep myself sleeping. Well, it was a cool dream anyway.
I find the excitement of becoming lucid can sometimes cause me to wake up. Nothing sucks more than this. I find the best thing is to try to stay calm. I try to stay balanced. Like I want to know that I am dreaming but I don't want to start picking up on my waking senses. I try to use all the dream senses I can. Focusing sight on something. Smelling, tasting, hearing, and feeling. Touch is probably the best. I like running my hands through cool water in a dream. I love that all your senses can be reformed from memory.
many times, if i am lucid and feel it's fading, i just start to run. Im my dream i lean waay forward and go reallly fast. That way i can run from the rift that would otherwise consume me.
Never thought about running! :cactus: I'll have to try that.. thanks! :)Quote:
