      Dream Control Troubles

When I started Lucid Dreaming, I had some trouble exerting absolute control over my dreams. Even in very lucid dreams, I couldn't do some things even though I had full intention and knew that I should be able to. I can fly easily, but control over the world itself is hard for me and I don't know why...

      Examples:

      Lucid Dream #1
I was near the trailer that my family regularly camps in and it was very dark. The wind was blowing from the south, and for some reason I realized that I was dreaming. The first thing I did was stop to collect myself and think about what I wanted to do. I decided the first thing to do would be to alter the weather. I exerted control to reverse direction of the wind, and it worked. However, what did not work was me trying to stop the wind completely. I yelled loudly even, "THIS IS MY DREAM, AND I WANT THE WIND TO STOP!" That didn't work. I don't understand why I can't change some things in the dreamworld.

      Lucid Dream #2
I was looking up at the sky and it was so spectacular I knew I was dreaming. I saw the clouds, and I was able to move them. I then made it rain effortlessly, yet I couldn't make it stop. I was very lucid, and even then I couldn't make a change in the weather once more.

How do I gain control over things like this? I can't seem to do it using any tip/technique. Thanks.

Maybe you should just try going along with the dream for now. It seems like you have full control over your dream self so maybe you should just concentrate on you for now. Go along with what's happening in the dream. Move around, talk to dream characters, explore new places. Try not to do anything too godly yet. After awhile it'll all come to you.

But, if you really can't wait, think of it this way:

It's not reality. Whatever you want to do you can and will. Escape from the bounds of the real world, because in this newfound dream world the only bounds are the limits of your imagination. Don't think, believe. Don't try, do. Don't try to feel, feel! In other words, think of 'The Matrix'. That will help a tremendous amount.
      I'm rich, biatch!

The problem is that we have mental barriers. Even when it's in a dream, we generally have a difficulty with abrupt changes in the weather, things appearing in front of us, or flying (for most) etc. We have to learn to get the sub-concious to understand that it's okay in a lucid dream to do the impossible. At least that's what I think. For now just turn your back on it, will the change, then look again, and it should have changed. We just have a difficulty with seeing these things happen.

      Thanks for the suggestions!

I'll just wait and practice with smaller things and do what Jin said. I seem to only have control over things that I can do, not what is happening in the world, which doesn't really bother me that much. Thanks again.
