      Temporary Good Dream Control

I'm not sure how much this is known, but I figure its something worth posting for those who lack Dream Control.

A while ago, I had issues with controlling my dreams. But one thing that was always able to happen, was that my dream characters were able to do much much more than I was capable of.

So, I started thinking, how can I use this? I realized that a dream character can manipulate my dream for me. Now granted, for certain things, this isn't real handy, such as stabilizing the dream, or walking through walls, or levitating objects. However, for other things, such as Summoning (people, creatures, animals, locations, objects, ect..), this can be very beneficial, as well as helping you to fly.

With proper use, you can have the Dream characters manipulate your dream to your hearts content, but naturally, nothing beats doing it yourself, hence why I said "Temporary" good control.

Dream Characters can help you get into the mind-set that doing anything is possible, which will greatly help your ability of controlling your dream yourself. Thats because in order for one to be able to control the dream, they have to really believe they can, and expect it to happen. If you see a DC (Dream Character) going about doing things, your more likely to believe you can, and thus more likely to gain the kind of control you want.

I've had great success with this, and I'm just curious if any one else has had the same kind of success as me.

OMG yep I've used this a lot. It actually works best. I remember once when One of my DCs threw a fireball and I was so amazed that I went to try and throw one myself. Next thing I knew I had a fireball in my hand and threw it. Seeing others do something amazing really encourages the viewer to really want to try that. There's so much encouragement you gain from seeing it happen right before your eyes. For me, seeing this DC work his magic really encouraged me a lot and next thing I knew, I was eventually much better at magic than him. Courage and expectation is a very powerful key

DCs can actually be used to walk through walls, ive recently had a DC pull me through a wall. funnily enough is was in a non-lucid dream where i had this test on walking through walls

Everything makes sense once you stop thinking about it

      I've experienced this.
Earlier this week I had a dream where a character was teaching me to swim really fast by propelling myself with my will. I then used that skill to fly as well. I then became lucid and my ability to fly well continued. Before this I would have to do swimming motions with my arms to "swim" through the air.

Another time I can remember was in a non-lucid where a DC and myself were being chased by another DC. My ally was flying above buildings in this city and I was trying to also, but kept falling back down after a few seconds. So I would fly up and land on a building and super-jump from building to building so the enemy couldn't climb up and catch me. Occasionally I would miss a building and fall down to the street, then my Ally would come down, I'd grab his foot and be pulled up with him. So I was then flying because I was holding onto his leg. I also remember hitting the sides of buildings as he flew around but I was able to phase through them. It gave a kind of pins and needles feeling as I went through the corner of the buildings.

If a DC does something cool I simply ask him how he does it, and then I can do it too. Sometimes if the 'how' makes sense, I can still use it in later dreams.

Or I walk up to someone and ask him how to do certain things, and hope they explain.

I had trouble getting somewhere in one of my lucids a little while ago; I asked a DC to take me, and he did. He took me back in time, and then led me through a tunnel, and there we were!
