      cant control anything!

once i'm always at my house for some reason, and every time i try to spawn something or go through another dimension by opening doors and finding not a room but something different. but everytime i open my doors tryingto get somewhere i always end up where the door would take me in real life - in short, its as if my lucid dreams take on the laws of the awake universe.

ex// i become lucid and i am at my house, i try to imagine theres a forest or something when i open this door (the door to my room), when i open it its just my room, nothing special. Or I try to spawn people but they never show up!

How can you control your dreams?

After two lucid dreams? You don't You need to have use much more passive control at first and then your dream will be more stable and you'll slowly learn how to control your dreams. Everyone falls the first time.

Train your powers first, but you have to start small. Try using telekinesis on small objects within that dream till you eventually have control of something, then you can try what is it you wanted to do and if you get at least some results, keep on it till you make it.

The trick is not to simply believe you can do it, but to KNOW you can do it. Or you can ask a DC to do it for you; that can have pretty good results.

Yeah, you're rejecting the dream world, just like i did my first lucid dream. You've opened the door at your house so many times, you know exactly what's beyond it. Now, all of the sudden, the idea that ANYTHING you want will be behind that door instead of the thing you've seen a million times just came to you? Your mind's rejecting that, and until you can understand more of what dreaming is, you'll continue to reject that. It just takes practice!

Like me, my first controlled LD -- i tried to put my hand through a wall. I know it's not possible to do that in real life, so my hand just hit the wall and left a dent in the wall, even though i was in a dream -- what i expected to happen, what was engrained into my mind after 19 years of living, that's exactly what happened. It just takes time to learn that in a dream, you can do whatever. Your mind is still uncertain about that.

      Sorry, i'm waxing poetic.

If it doesn't work, find an alternative method

I think that sticking to ordinary dream control methods only isn't a good idea. I found out that some methods (doors, windows, walking around building, looking behind) don't work for me, while the other (visualising something) does. I took me a lot of attempts to realize I need to think up/rediscover some methods that are more suitable to my mind.
So if you fail, find a different way and don't stress about it. Good luck.

Its sort of like the Matrix, that part where Neo was jumping.

      "Free your mind"

That was my inspiration. Don't think too hard about it. You really have to believe, blindly believe. It is like riding a bike, it takes lots of practice. Narcissism is a good thing too, For me at least, if my dream world was the real life there would be no such thing as Narcissism, it would be called Garlicism, lol. Although I should also note that unlike riding a bike it doesn't happen in a day. I started in April 2004 and I'm still learning.

Speaking of which, fighting Agent Smith was fun the first time, lol. Though I must say, my old favorite line, "ignorance is bliss," doesn't apply to my metaphor I'm going for. You know, the marix being a lucid dream... my life is so much better since I started lucid dreaming.

I heard that dreamspinning is good for changing your dreamscape. Have you tried that?

It's probably a mental thing. ie. if you expect it to work, it will. If you have doubts, it won't.

So true CrimsonWolf, if you doubt at all, nothing's going to work the way you want it to work. I've had a few summoned items malfunction due to doubt [then again, I was working with them with my eyes closed, but now I can do anything lucid with my eyes closed and be fine]
