      Bad vividness in WILDs

I seem to have difficulty having good WILDs. I can have WILDs, but they suck.

Most of my best LDs have been DILDS, because I'm a semi-natural in that I naturally become lucid when something attacks me in a dream (learned response from nightmares as a kid)

I've had a lot of WILDs, but they're just never good LDs.
My WILDs pale in comparison to the brilliance of my DILDs.

      Why?

Because I can still kind of feel my physical body at the same time as the WILD, and it feels very shallow... like I'm going to wake up at any time.
Like I'm just a millimeter from the waking surface.

Anyone have any specific advice or tricks for this? Am I not properly in the WILD? What?

Let yourself wake up, it won't be real. Your mind knows that it's actually just laying in bed because that's where it just was. Let yourself go back there and have a false awakening. I struggled with this too.

I can try that... I don't know if I've just tried waking up without moving
Personally I doubt that it will work for me, but worth a shot.

I've tried moving my body, but my real body moves (My SP is never absolute. I just find it more of an effort to move)

      Hey Placebo!

It sounds like you aren't grounded fully in your lucidity during your WILDS.

I recommend that you try to "ground" yourself in the dream (i.e., make it as lucid as it can be) when you realize that you're lucid.

One of the tricks I use to "ground" myself is to "touch" things. By touching.. I mean really "feeling" them. Get into how they feel.. are they hot, cold, smooth, rough, etc. (this also increases the vividness of the dream along with helping me remain in it longer).

You may also try to increase your vividness by confidently stating aloud "increase lucidity" or "clarity now".

      I hope this helps!

Thanks, but I've tried those tricks :/
They only help keep me in the LD, but the dream is still very shallow.

This really sucks, because if I'm polyphasic, I only have naps to LD with, which pretty much means I should be WILDing :/

Well, I did a search and found quite a few threads on members who feel their real body while LDing but few contained any real solutions that you hadn't already tried.

I did find the following and thought it made a lot of sense:

I still maintain that what you are feeling in your "bed" isn't your real body. It's a second dream body trying to get you to have a false awakening.
