So oblivious! Movie dreams...

Last night I had a movie dream, the kind where you're not actually in it, but you are only viewing things.

There were the two guys from Wayne's World. They were doing something, then all of a sudden the scene changed and they were at a place that looked like a fairy tale, where there was a lake and these very vivid, colorful flowers and plants. Then they started saying, "This place smells very gamy!" I suddenly realized that they were dreaming! And I was sitting there saying, "Lucky bastards don't even know they're dreaming!"

I think that the reason that I didn't become lucid myself was because it was a movie dream, so I didn't actually have a body or anything to RC with, and they were in the middle of nowhere, so there weren't really any external RC's such as a clock or writing. The environment could be counted as an RC, but I guess my mind figured that because it was a "movie", it didn't have to be real, so I didn't catch on that I was the actual dreamer.

Has anybody become lucid during one of these movie dreams? If so, how and what did you do?

Create a body and move into it.

I never got lucid for myself, I only knew that the DCs were in a dream. It was like I was watching a movie in which the people in it where dreaming.

I get those all the time. Its like you don't even get a chance to become lucid. I've been meaning to stop and do RC whenever I watch movies. Problem is, I never really watch movies, or even TV. I don't even have a TV. Which begs the qestion, why do I have so many movie dreams if I so rarely watch movies?

In a dream Cloe(from Smallville) was there, and all the ppl around her were telling her that she belonged there. Then I told her she could and should leave because she was only dreaming, then I thought I should do a Rc, even though I was 110% sure I wasn't dreaming. I did a RC, and so began an ld.

This one throws me a little. I only have two types of dream, lucid and non lucid. And the non lucid dreams sound like the movie dream. What is it that makes it a movie dream? That there are film stars in it? Or that the DCs are dreaming and creating the scene?

I have had several movie lucids they are really good. Usually I'm watching a film on Tv or on a DvD player. I then realise that I'm dreaming and enter the dream. I think my most recent movie dream was either Cloverfield or Pirates of the Carribbean: Dead man's chest.

More then half of my dreams involve me reading a book, watching a movie, or playing a video game. That's a problem .

I had a weird B6 induced non-lucid a this morning. It was about The Golden Compass.

I ended up telling Daniel Craig to buzz off and stop telling me what to do.

      Neither.

A movie dream is a dream that you are not in. There doesn't have to be any recognizable characters in it such as a movie or television star.

It's where you are nothing, and don't take place in anything. There is action going on, but all you can do is see, hear, smell, and sometimes taste it. You can't interact because you don't have a physical form. It's basically like you are watching a movie, which is why some people give it this name.

      First LD

I had my first LD yesterday. But when I became lucid, it felt like I had moved to a movie therter, but I was 1 mile away from the screen and I was wearing "blurr glasses". Whats up with that? Are our "cases" related?

That's pretty ironic about you saying Wayne and Garth don't even know that they are dreaming when you're the one dreaming without knowing it. I love that movie.

The reason it felt like you went far away and it was blurry was because you are new to LDing and it will go away if you don't get too excited when you get an LD.

I have had a lot of dreams based off movies. Zombie appocolypse being the most common for me. I recently had a dream about an alien virus takeover like the move "The Invasion" with Nicole Kidman. Sadly I have yet to become lucid in any of these dreams.
