Cloning

I have read about people cloning themselves. I am curious how exactly it is done though. I suppose you could just try to separate yourself several times, but that seems like it would be rather difficult to do.

Also, how many times can you clone yourself?

Are you able to see from the perspective of all your clones at the same time?

I wish my LDs weren't as random as they are so I could try to do it myself. I have other tasks to complete most the time though.

I haven't really LD'd yet, but I bet one way (albeit slow) if you can't just imagine clones coming out of your body would be to summon a DC you repeatedly, however you choose to summon..

As with many dream control problems, it may help to create a reasonable device for cloning yourself. Try making a "cloning booth", where you step into one side and your clone steps out of the other.

Often creating a reasonable way for something to happen instead of just "making it happen" is easier.

Definitely some interesting ways to create clones, both in this thread and the one posted by Clairity.

It seems that there are mainly ideas on how one can clone oneself and not a lot in the way of experiences to draw from. There were a couple examples but not to the extent I am thinking. Because of this I still haven't found the answer to the question of quantity and perspective in such a situation. Looking from the eyes of just one other clone would not be very hard or confusing. I have had dreams where I was both in the first and third person perspective, so I think it would be somewhat similar to that. I can't imagine seeing out of, say, 1000, or even 100 eyes though.

I will have to work with the ideas I have read. I guess have a new task to see if I can create and control 1000 clones or more.

First I need to master WILDing though...

There was also another lucid task of the month a while back that resulted in cloning, besides the mirror one. It was to find yourself asleep in your bed, and wake yourself up.

I don't know if I'd even like seeing in two perspectives...

If I did, I'd bet my screen of vision would split in two, just like when playing a multiplayer videogame. And then Mario Kart music would play...

Well, I haven't had the experience of seeing out of more than one pairs of dream eyes, but I can imagine it. I think it could be like looking at two pictures at the same time or extending your field of vision. Something like crossing your eyes, but the two pictures you see are different...

As for the experience of "controlling" a large number of clones, I haven't had experience with this, either, but I have felt two bodies at the same time. In a dream, when I became lucid I could feel both my sleeping body laying motionless on the bed, and my dream body walking on the carpet-covered concrete floor of the middle school. I don't know if the feeling would be akin to that, but I see it more like having one conscious that is sending orders to each replication. Having one or a small number of goals that each person or the group is to fulfill.

Those are just my thoughts.

What I do is just close my eye's in my LD and image myself outside of my body looking down at myself and an exact clone appearing right there beside me.

i actually been wanting to do this since i got out numbered by dc's with magical powers.....if i could clone my self i wouldnt have to worry about being out numbered

Well now that that made such logical sense, it's probably what will eventually happen if I ever get around to cloning myself

Especially the music. I had the beach one stuck in my head a few days ago...
