      How Much Time???

I've been having A LOT of problems with dream control... When you first realize that you're in a lucid dream, how much time do you take to "stabilize" the dream??? (Looking at your hands and checking your senses)

Lately, I stabilize it until it's clear. Rubbing my hands and spinning helps me the most, or just focusing on an object. Control and clarity will naturally get better as your have more and more ld's.

If you have to you can always "go with the dream" and conjure up a few items to make it more fun...

Like Hakura suggests, I'm a big fan of going with the dream. After a bit, I have a pretty good feel for whether I should try to manipulate the dream or leave it alone.

NightLife, as soon as I realize that I'm lucid.. I attempt to stabilize the dream.

I also agree with Pastuli, I stabilize it until it's clear or until I feel "secure"/grounded in the dream.. that's when I know that my moving/actions won't cause the dream to fade.

I also do things to stabilize the dream throughout the dream just to keep it vivid and to hopefully cause it to last longer.

That's what I do too, I let the dream stabilize itself.

The thing I have gotten into a habit of whenever I have a LD is I do a backflip and doing push ups =] really helps.
