Godhood's a big job ...

I've only had a few experiences of lucidity while dreaming, and only two since I've been keeping a DJ (just over a year now). During my most recent LD, I was standing on someone's back deck and we were having a BBQ. Something about the host and his daughter triggered a DILD and for a brief period I was aware that I was dreaming. However, once this realization dawned on me, I felt ... overwhelmed? Not 'overwhelmed' in a stressful sense, but just overwhelmed by the thought that all of reality was now my domain. I found the mere act of sustaining the odd collection of objects inside the BBQ itself to be daunting (though the cigarette package and the other assorted objects did remain constant while I was attending to them). When I turned to face the BBQ host, his face was suddenly in silhouette, the light source just behind his head and obscuring his features. At this point, I woke up, I think mostly because of this thought that the world just contained too many things for me to sustain them all (or even to sustain enough for the dream to make any sense whatsoever).

So, I was just wondering how any of you deal with this difficulty, or if the thought/experience has ever occured to you. Thanks for your thoughts :)

I haven't had an experience exactly like yours, but similar in a way. Sometimes the scenery in my dream becomes blurry or less detailed.

This doesn't happen often though, but also I don't have super detailed lucid dreams often.

I would say that they won't always be like this, but everyone is different so its impossible to know for sure. But I think you will get used to the feeling more and more as time goes on.

Have you tried to rub your hands, spin, or any other lucidity enhancing technique? Rubbing my hands usually helps me stay in my lucid dream, and become more lucid.

I hope you have more lucid dreams! Its amazing how we are able to become aware in our own reality inside our mind.
