Can't move...not SP

Sometimes I have LDs that start off in my bed and is usually the beginning of a chain of FAs(usually when I take naps this happens). Today I took a nap and I was in my bed(in the dream), but I couldn't move. I tried SO hard to move, but I couldn't. My movements were kind of delayed as well. As some of you know, I have a problem with my sister in LDs because she ALWAYS is in my dream room(we share a room in RL) and she always attack me:(. You guys told me to fight back, in the dream she hit me and I hit her back then she started growling at me and gave me a evil look:eek:. Because I couldn't move well I stumbled over and I was back in the bed again. I couldn't get out of bed after that so I made myself levitate and I went through the roof after that I was in the bed AGAIN:?. After about 2 more FAs, I tried to wake myself up...I tried rocking side to side and anything else I can think of, but I couldn't wake up. Can anyone help me with my in-dream paralysis and with any techniques to wake myself up quickly, I would really appreciate it.:bowdown:

The stress and trying too hard might be what hindered you to break out of the paralysis. If you want to wake yourself up quickly, try closing your dream eyes and keep them closed until you wake up. It works for most lucid dreamers.

I hate chain FA's. They're really frustrating.

What you need to do is make the dream more stable. I think the chain FA'ing is because your dream is too unstable to do anything anyway, even if you did get up. It seems to happen for me when I don't really have any goals in mind, and am just walking along pointlessly to get away from the place I started.

Then again, I haven't really had good experiences getting lucid from FA's. Also, for the sister bit, did you try just turning your back to her and stop thinking about her? Your dream sister doesn't exactly exist if you're not thinking or looking at her.

Close your eyes, and do nothing, and you should wake up easily.

Ive had the same problem of paralysis in dream in my 3rd and 4th LD. My 4th also had a couple of false awakenings as well. I gradually got better movement by telling myself its my dream and i can do whatevr i want, but i still couldnt hover or shoot something out of my hand when i tried. I was still under the physical laws of real life.

A while ago I read somewhere on DV that the more attention you give to something in you dream the more detailed, realistic, ect it becomes. I've found that this applies to EVERYTHING and not just the stuff you want to become more detailed, realistic, and so on.

For me just stubbornly ignoring anything in a dream I don't like makes it go away or stop. This includes paralysis, blindness, annoying DCs, DCs attacking me, anything. The less attention you give to an unwanted thing in a dream the less power and influence it will have. Next time you are paralyized just relax and hang out. Day dream. Eventually it will just go away. Trust me.

i would suggest to search the internet to see if you can find any info. about your problem that is sooo weird

It seems to me that you are not 100% lucid. With 100% lucidity comes 100% control. The way you test if you are 100% lucid or not is to see if your DCs know that they are figments of your imagination or if they think that they are real. The same goes for you: if you think they are real or if you know that they are a part of your consciousness. If you or they haven't realized that they aren't real that is a part of you that isn't 100% lucid yet. Ignore your sister and focus your intent on being more lucid. Ignore whether or not you can move or not and pay attention to your lucidity

It's not weird at all, I asked around about lucid dreaming before,
and my brother had a similar problem, it's called Sleep Paralysis.

I believe it's when your mind wakes up before your body,
and it takes a few minutes for you to move.
it can occur after Lucid dreaming.

Please try to hug her instead, or take her hand and smile. That can make her dream image friendly towards you. Just like in life - you show friendliness when you want to make friends, you show anger when you want to make others angry.

Why do you have to wake up quickly and what do you dislike about in-dream paralysis? Are you afraid?

Lucidity, by the official definition of Lucidity Institute, is being aware of being asleep, and not realization that dream characters are a part of you. WolfTsunade had no problem with being aware of her dreaming. Judging by the definition, lucidity can't be full or not full, too, you either know that you're dreaming or not.

In cases when this has happen to me, I will close my eyes, talk to myself, and I will re-dream the same situation , but this time I kick ass........ take back my power !!
If I wake up, I will auto suggest the same dream the next night and the next night until I am able to finish it off.

I was suffering the exact same thing.. I was dreaming terrifying things.. I saw people stabbed by monster.. I heard ghost crying.. Evil laught..... I cant move my body..If i did i'll hurt... My soul seems to be dragged away from my real body... I tried to be relax but i still failed ,its not as before..
In my dream i was searching for wall to knock my head to make me awake but i was suddenly teleported to another dream thread..I climbed from roof top but i was teleported to another terrifying dream.. At that moment i thought i will never awake again..

Yeah, I've had something before where it's like, if I try to move my arms, I'm moving my "soul arms" but not my "body arms". But every few seconds, they go back to the same position as the "body arms".
