      LD when in danger

If this is wrong place please move.

I have had 2 LDs this week. The first when flying away from some dude wanting to kill me. The area was nice though. Like big temples floatng in the sky.

80% of the time now I get LDs when in danger. And I always just fly away.

Last night I went bed at about 3am. I was also drunk from a night out!

In the dream some dude had killed 3 chicks and I was in his appartment. I wanted to used the toilet and when I walked in there there was blood absolutely everywhere. I thought I need to get out of this place. I sneaked out of the door her heard me and the chase began. I ran up the stairs then I became lucid. I thought run to the top and fly away.. because most the time they can't fly. I started to run up and tried to break the windows, which failed.
I got to the top and on the roof and flew off. I turned around and he was flying too!! I got rid of him with some wishful thinking.

Since being on here when I become lucid I automatically think of this place.. lol and DONT GET EXCITED. Which I don't anyway.
so yeah I'm flyin up and started rubbing my hands which I remembered from here.. it was an experience in itself! lol

      then the dream ended.

So yeah. I need to get lucid without waiting till in danger and earlier in the night. Its annoying only having control when in danger.

Does anyone else mainly become lucid when in danger?

and about 85% of my dreams involve death and violence. Is it normal to be dreaming so much horrible stuff?

      Thanks

Since I ceased my efforts to become lucid years ago (and I only succeeded in one full blown lucid back then) I have experienced a few instances where I become lucid while being chased (in danger as you say).

Then when I become lucid the only thing I want to do is wake up. What a waste!

I guess when we're dreaming, if we are having a nightmare we are sometimes able to bring into play the skill of LDing because we're desperate.

When I first started Lucid dreaming, fear was about my best dreamsign as well. Now, I don't often get scared enough to get Lucid that way. And my best dreamsign is getting airborne somehow.

Don't worry, just keep on working at becoming Lucid and they will start to happen in other situations as well.

In the meantime, Just keep watching a lot of scary movies.

Next time you get lucid, just stop and ask the guy why he is chasing you.

Ask him weird questions and get him confused, or make friends with him.

I also experience lucidity with the presence of danger. Though my first reaction is to run, I always maintain my composure. At times I am left with no choice but to fight because I am cornered by several people (who look like they have been searching for me). Whether I have to run or fight, the outcome is always under my control. It amazing the things you can do, and learn in an instance. I have surprised myself many times as to how I triumph in some situations. the interesting thing is after a lengthy fighting hiatus, I found that my fighting skills were out of practice.

If its a dream, why do I require practice, just as the "real" world?

I have evolved to feel more safe while dreaming than the "real" world. Its kinda weird, but the fact that I am able to preserve my safety at will, makes me reason as to which state is more natural.

Its a deep subject to reason about, but I love a good bargain.

I'm gonna do that next time.

      I always just fly away.
I kinda got used to running when being chased.

It just sucks when I'm not lucid.. and I have to put up with people chasing me all the time.

The first LD I had since being on this forum I remembered to rub my hands to try stop me from waking up. Rubbing my hands was an experience in itself. I have always just flew around and never really thought I could do specific things. Its just a case of reading stuff on here and getting lucid and trying it out.
I will turn around and fight back

Not only do I get lucid sometimes while in danger, I ALWAYS go lucid while in danger. When I go lucid, I just realize it, no reality checks. Even when I'm not in a danger zone and lucid, I'm always really scared of monsters coming, but tonight none did come. I heard someone coming and when I turned around, to my suprise it was the nice guy Tom. (dno why tom it just was) and he helped me out. It was probably the first time a DC has approached me in a lucid dream.

Wow, I'm glad to see I'm not the only one in this boat. I've had about 6 total LDs so far since last November, and I'd say 4 of them have all occurred when I was in some kind of danger in a dream. I realize I'm in danger and for a split second I try to wake up, but because I'm trying to wake myself up I realize that I'm obviously dreaming and so I become lucid instead and all the fear goes away.

It's been kind of annoying these past couple of months that its the only way, but it has led to some pretty cool LD experiences. I even had 2 in the same night (both when I was in danger) which was amazing.

Thats crazy that you become lucid because your trying to wake up.

I become lucid and then normally just fly off. If I want to wake up I can do. Its strange that I have made myself wake up in the past and not thought about making myself lucid. If I have the control to wake up then surely I am lucid for a second or so.. what a waste

I'd say the majority of the LD's I've had are when I was in danger as well. Which is a real waste, because then I spend my lucid time kicking the crap out of whatever it was that was trying to eat me.

I'd suggest going over your lucid goals before bed. Next time you have a danger induced lucid, just ignore the danger and it will cease to exist. Then you can go about your lucid goals.

An important questions would be what part of our beings are heightened in the presence of danger? I become lucid in a instance regardless of what I was doing. If I can become aware instantaneously, then there must be a part of me thats always overseeing everything and decides to "step in" if the dream is getting unsafe. T

he whole process of lucid dreaming fascinates me. One of the reasons is because it can be turned on in an instance. What facilitates the process?

In my dreams there is almost always something after me. And i usually fly away, or beat it up.
