Focus on a far away point, and imagine yourself being pulled toward it. That about as much help as I can be, as I've never had this problem. |

Yeah, that about sums it up. Seriously slow, often slower than I could walk. I try to relax, calm my mind, abandon my fears/preconcieved notions/worries, etc and just DO IT, but I haven't had much luck. |

Success comes to those who are not afraid of failing.
When I started flying I could barely get off the ground and was slow. Honestly I just had to practice. The more I flew the fast and higher I got. Now I can almost reach space and am as fast as light. I know that prolly doesn't help but that's how I did it. |

I have this same problem, seeker. In my experience I have found that simply imagining how it would feel to fly fast is extremely helpful. |

How are you planning to zoom with that kind of attitude? You need some adrenaline! |

Naginata, thanks! It is true that when I flew quickly in the past I felt really excited. I've always used a "swimming" motion to fly, and lately it has become exhausting! Really the motion of my dream body is irrelevant. The flying all takes place in my MIND. I'll try getting excited and imagining how it would feel to zoom. |

Perhaps you should try different types of flying. I've done every type of flying imaginable. Floating, gliding, levitating, soaring, drifting. I've found that flying in an arc instead of a straight line helps when I can't gain speed. |

Thanks, Cusp! |

If your good at incubating dream scenarios then you can create a scenario where its necassary for you to fly away (like being chased by something) so that you feel the urge to do it, and instead of concentrating on how you "cant" youll be concentrating on just doing it to get away |

You talk to vacuum cleaners and safes, you've had apple trees growing in your living room, tigers and horses in your dining room, an elephant in your bedroom. I've seen you locked in a jail in the middle of your living room and once someone swore they saw you floating in mid-air! How do you explain that, Major Nelson!?
The only time I ever flew in a dream was in a random DILD I had. I suddenly realized I was dreaming, looked up at the sky, and took off. I think I kind of invisioned myself flying as Neo (from the Matrix), so I flew *very very* fast, to the point where I was going so fast that the dream began to fade to white, forcing me to slow down so as to not wake myself. I suppose you could try to some quasi-role play, imagine you're Neo or Superman or something. |

Imagine everything else moving. The ground, scenery, people, buildings, moving towards you, rather than you moving. To go higher, imagine everything else getting lower. |
