Yes, it was a lucid dream, since you did realize that you were dreaming. It's still a lucid dream even if you feel that you don't have much control, if any at all. That comes with some experience. |

I had a dream last night where I looked at my hands as a reality check and my fingers were disappearing and reappearing so I thought "Hey, I'm dreaming." After I realized it I started telling myself to stay calm and focus on something as to stay inside the dream. The thing about it is, it still felt as though it was just a dream and I didn't really have any control over it whatsoever, like I was just having a dream about becoming lucid instead of actually becoming lucid. This is the second time it's happened and it felt like that both times. Was it a lucid dream? |

What can I do to get better at it along with experience? |

read a lot of things on the site. i find that the most helpful. u can even search the site. =p i find it even more helpful than asking a question in a new thread. look into lucid dreaming a lot if you think you are interested. the more knowledge, the easier it is to get better at it with practice. hope i could help. |

My opinion is, if you don't KNOW you had a lucid, you didn't have a lucid. Screw the "you knew you were dreaming so it counts as a lucid" crap. That doesn't count as a lucid dream |

The defintion of a lucid dream is to realize you are dreaming while in a dream. It doesn't require god-like dream control, completely logical thinking, etc. |

I've been counting that kind as near lucids, since I realize I'm dreaming but don't really break away from the "haziness" of non-lucids (for lack of a better definition) and never get to do much of anything afterwards. |

Dude what kind of question is that? If you were lucid you will know it. |
