Retaining messages from a dream

Sometimes in a lucid dream, a character would tell me something meaningful; or i would read something meaningful; or a song that i am composing will be sung out, in a brilliant way and *with lyrics*. In the dream i would repeat them over and over until i could memorize them, then i would wake myself up, but i can never recall them once i wake up. Is there a technique to retain such textual information while waking up?

I remember my DG said something meaningful, but i forgot almost everything she said My advice isnt really a technique and its kinda of a bummer to. But once you are told it or recite it to yourself..DONT wait to wake up. FORCE yourself to wake up directly from the dream. I tried this in a dream once and i pretty much remembered everything, so it should work for you to.

thanks what is a DG? is it dreamgirl or dreamguide? when i was registering that was something about dreamguide, it is someone that you summon in a dream to help out?

It's "dream guide" but if its a girl I dont see whats wrong in calling it that. I sometimes have beautiful music in my music dreams as I'm doing something. Doing what nightowl said is a possible solution but I find it easy to remember if you say what you want to say outload to someone else in the dream, or sing the song. you can do this while continuing and just relax and hopefully you will remember it just like anything else you say to someone in your dream. But that may just be me.
