Am I Crazy.. Is This Possible

So I was debating with friends tonight, who know way more on the topic of lucid dreaming than me (they're studying it in school) .. but I read for about 20 minutes tonight and understand the basics.

I tryed explaining to them that I have, since I was 10 or 12, been able to control my dreams. Not full control though. I have tried, but somethings I just can't make happen (fantasies). Occasionally I can change a situation.. but no matter what situation I am in, I have full control.

These happen every 2-3 nights. However I have gone in stretchs of 10-13 days without remember a dream. Another strange point, the only dreams I remember, are ones that are lucid. I do not remember any other dreams.

One of my friends tried to explain to me, that scientifically, this is impossible. It is impossible to have full control dreams every 2-3 nights. From what I have read in this forum, you people are able to have full control because you have practiced various techniques that help you in this area... I have never done any such studying.. I am just this way.

So basically, my question to you is, am I an exception to science (which really would just freak me out) .. or is his opinion on this not being possible just false, and how would I go about explaining this to him?

Nice community you have here, I just may be sticking around (unless I am deemed crazy).

Well that's great. I do enjoy what I have and I am very happy with it. My dad used to have the ability too but he lost it when he was around 40.. well I got over 20 years to go before I'm 40.. but if I ever lose it, I'll surely be dissapointed.

Alright so there are other people like me, and I can tell this guy that, and he can believe it if he wants.

Doesn't really matter to me what he thinks about it.. I just got mad at him because he is telling me that it's not possible. Having experienced it for years, him telling me I'm wrong, and I'm lying, is just a disrespectful slap in the face.

      Welcome to the forums!

Yup, your a natural, and thats great. I usually have about 5-6 LD's a night. Some people are either just faster learners, or it happens with them miraculously. Glad to hear that.

5-6 a night? I think that would just be a burden.. when you wake up do you still feel tired? Sometimes that happens to me after a LD.

If I had 5-6 a night that would be no burden. THe only difference with lucid dreams is you knwo whats going on. Your mind still remains acive all night...lucid or not. I think Id wake up refreshed every morning. Id probabyl be addicted to sleep.

Nights I have long stretches of lucid dreams I wake up tired as well, brain activity or no being consious for extended periods of time makes your mind tired, your body is up and ready to go though. Tell your friend the purpose of science is to further knowledge, not to assume you know it all. If an exceptional case comes up, look into it learn about it! Just point these people to the forum

There are no bigger truths than your own. So if he really belive that much in theory and maybe little experience he are going to have a hard time going lucid when he wants to... why should he even at all belive that the brain cant deliver more than max a lucid dream per week... its his choise.
