Using "fear" to control dreams?

Do you think this would work? What I am saying is that when you realise you are dreaming and want to make someone/something appear, you tell yourself that you don't want them to appear and that you hope they are not around the next corner and that you are scared of them. You know how in dreams if you expect something scary to happen it often does? Well same principle. You make yourself believe you are scared of something happening (which you actually want to happen) and then it would hopefully happen.

Do you think it would work? I know it sounds kinda confusing. I've not had a lucid recently so not had a chance to try it out, but I thought if someone had problems controlling their dreams they could try this.

For example- (Lucid dreaming) "I really hope my crush doesn't show up because I'd be really embarassed and scared of him/her, I hope they're not around the next corner..." (Then hopefully they would be)

Not a bad idea, actually. The only prob is convincing yourself you are scared, seems just as easy/difficult as convincing yourself that they will "Be just around that corner." And both get the same results. I think the origonal method of just think and believe would work better, but this is still worth a shot.

Well this will only work if your sub conscious doesn't like you.

I find it easier to get on better terms with your SC, and then he/she will let you dream whatever you like.

Also, if your Sub conscious doesn't like you, you got some serious problems.

Yes that is one way to expect something to happen but the tricky part is tricking yourself to be afraid of what you want. If you have that kind of willpower you could probably make it appear anyway. Tell me your results and how hard it was

Thanks for the replies. Yeh I realise it's kinda a paradox...you really want something to happen but tell yourself you don't. I'm going to try it anyway because sometimes I have trouble making things happen, I had a lucid last night but I don't think I remembered to use this method.

I like it, not silly at all, it will be only hard to put "fear" on everything, then again it works like a RC.
