Is it because I suck at control? How can I make this stop so I can actually enjoy my lucid dreams?
Well, the firstt error here is the use of the word 'should'. It should be along the lines of 'I can'.
However, I would go a step further, and not only think 'I can, I can, I can!' but actually think of the thing as laughably easy - as though it makes no sense for the inability to be there.
Even further would be to take a leaf from Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy - aim for the ground and miss. In other words, don't think about your inability to move. Don't even think about your ability to move. Just don't think about it. Say, 'oh gosh, I need to get off to school quickly, I'm running late!' which requires movement, yet does not make one consciously think about moving - therefore, your brain won't even have a chance to get worried about getting stuck in impossible gravity. Aim to move, and miss.
