It is really normal for beginners to have a hard time staying in the dream when they become lucid. The best thing is to just stay calm. Look around. Notice the detail.

If you do wake up, it is possible that you have had a false awakening (FA). This means you are really just dreaming about waking up. So whenever you wake up do two RCs.

What do you mean by loose consciousness? Do you mean the dream ends or that you loose lucidity?

Once you realize that you're dreaming, it's best to stop whatever you were doing and try to calm your mind and make sure you're really completely aware of what's going on. If the dream starts to fade, try rubbing your hands together and telling yourself that the dream won't fade. You have to believe that though.

My technique: Close your eyes and say to yourself you are on the edge of the grand canyon. Then just jump forward slightly and open them. There is a different result every time, but the adrenalin rush saves my lucidity every time.

I love DEILD! SP is pwnage!

I also just want to warn you to preform reality checks upon "waking"- I once had a lucid dream and tried to use the spinning-method to teleport. As I spun I thought that I was waking up and was actually spinning around in real life, and thought the dream had been a failiure. Hours later it hit me that for a variety of reasons it made no sense for me to actually be spinning around (for one, my bedroom is too small) and that I had had a false awakening. If only I had known!

stabalize the dream, and if it doesn't work afterward, do DEILD to get back into the dream so that you can practice some more.

I'm going to have to try that since nothing seems to work for me besides DEILDing back into the LD.

I had something like that happen to me too. I was spinning in my LD but then I could feel sleep paralysis and then it broke and I was rolling out of my bed and I ran into my desk. I didn't realize I was still dreaming till I woke up later.

Last night when the dream faded on me (the same point I realized I was in a dream), I was just about to take my pants of for secks. How do you manage to stop what you're doing then? haha

I had a smilar thing happen to me just the other day; I attained lucidity right away (the house/ outside was being noisy and had woken me up in the morning) So I fell back asleep and gained lucidity almost right away.

I didn't get excited or panic I just decided to do a reality check....

So i decided instantly (literally less than half a second after entering dream) to jam a fork into my arm Never mind how I got the frok.. It just appeared in my hand an insatnt before it hit my arm... Ok success it didn't hurt!

Time to see how high I can jump... So I jumped really high then I could feel myself waking up, and I tried the spinning method but It didn't work at all I'm still not sure if It was the noise from the house/area or not but I was perfectly lucid I mean I did the reality checks sort of like a formality! (it's good practice to always do them right?)

So any ideas/links on how to stay asleep?.. sometimes I can stay lucid while listening to stuff happening in the house like I'll hear my dad drop something in the bathroom and lie there with a smile on my face while lucid... do earbuds work? To stop sound from getting in?

I know how you feel. It took me 6 lucid dreams before I could make them last more than 10 seconds :p. My latest one though I had control of my own actions and it lasted a good 5-10 minutes.

I can't remain in my Dream!! Any help please?

I was almost lucid AGAIN. A couple of nights ago I dreamed that I was in my class room, I
looked at the words "Reality Check" I wrote on my hand and started walking around but I still couldn't stay in the dream that long for some reason.

I don't know what I'm doing wrong. Any help please?

Keep trying. Practice always makes perfect. Eventually you'll naturally discover a way. It worked for me. Now automatically my brain just grabs the dream, and shoves it in place.

I never used the spin technique (never needed too. I spent many dreams learning to stay lucid, and I'm planning on using it next time.)

Make sure you spin in the right direction which can be the left one.

It was more or less a joke, but still... some people experience spinning works better in one direction than the other. That may apply to other things too. For example when I'm doing a reality check by holding my nose, it only works when I use my left hand.

If you would like a simple answer then what you must first due is stabilize your dream using one or a combination of various methods. Once dream stabilization has been achieved then you may continue on with your lucid journey.

Dream stabilzation first however is key.

It is hard believe me, even if you are calm. In your dream look for a object, and touch it, hold it, sniff it, all this will make your dream more strong and stable.
