Underwater
Hmmm, even though I have pretty good control over my dreams, everytime I try an underwater lucid dream I have some problems. It always starts out pretty good and I can breath underwater and do whatever I like. I'm always controlling the dream to things I feel like doing (exploring deep caves, swimming and befriending with cool creatures, etc.).
However, at some point in the dream I always run into random sea monsters, man-eating creatures, etc. and for some reason even though I'm fine at fighting back/altering the dream in other evil style dreams (zombie, gun fight, alien monsters) I can never seem to avoid the fear from these. It usually ends up turning my dream against me and they end up chasing and trying to kill me, often joined by more. I'm always like too worried to fight back and my lucid dream begins to fade (sometimes because I'm forcing myself to wake up) if I get too stressed or I'll wake up before I die.
I know I'm not going to die or anything but for some reason the fear like overpowers me in these cases and was wondering if anyone had any advice for this? It happens in a few other cases besides being underwater as well.

Just learn to not expect yourself to lose.

try to turn into a monster yourself and beet the other one....i thinkl that should work(or the emotion will overpower you, cause you to wet your self and/or wake up...:) jk)

well as the short but sweet post above me said that you must basicaly have 100% confidence in yourself to accomplish things in a lucid dream.
However your problem in underwater battles may arise from your mind's blueprint (or Schema) of the fact that manouvering underwater quickly is a hard process.
You may be very confident in this area but this may be the root of your problems as dreams that i have had underwater have always been slower in motion that in a normal setting.

ive just read an article that said you should try to confront them not by killing, but by asking: "who are you?"
the entire article is here: http://www.dreamviews.com/community/...ad.php?t=61620

This is pretty much the main reason I try to avoid water in all dreams, lucid or not. Underwater baddies are so much more terrifying than land ones.
It all stems from that giant Eel in Mario 64....damn thing scarred me for life.
