From my experience, visual problems relate to vividness and dream clarity.
Your somewhere that certainly has that 'dreamy feeling' and either your eyes start twitching, your vision is blurry, something is going screwy with you vision. Right?
What do you do?
Initially, temporary solutions are good. Example, it's blurry, take off your glasses. You itch, scratch it! (Or create all powerful eyedrops.) These are all good. But that does nothing to get rid of the real root of the issue.
First, you must realize that 'there is no spoon.' Your eyes don't itch. In fact, you should be able to remove your avatar's, (dream manifestation of yourself,) eyes entirly and then swallow them. Your mind isn't seeing anything. Your mind is interpreting thoughts during REM sleep. That's it.
Secondly, this may be the side effect of un-stabalizing your dream with forced control. I'd read this to get a better understanding of why pasive and forced control have thier own drawbacks.

Anyway, once that is realized within the dream, (it would have to be a high level lucidity dream,) you may find the eye being less of a problem.
But if the issue of clarity and vividness is still a problem, you may still be facing the same kinds of troubles. I was just saying in another thread that I like to run my hand over a pole or desk and just try and FEEL what it feels like. Granted, I'm not touching anything. But I can try and recall what the sensory perception of feeling something is like.
Not only does vividness come into focus, but you are at a high level of feeling and that dreamy feeling is gone.
If you can get that much clarity in the dream, your usually going to be golden.
