Lightbulb Dream Re-entry (have you tried it yet?)

Has anyone tried dream re-entry? I think it's one of the most useful tools there is, especially if there's a dream that you can't "force" to happen. You've already dreamt it so you just "re-enter" it.

Especially if there's a dream where you need to finish the dream to find out useful info, but you woke up too soon.

Any tips or suggestions? Things to be careful of? Stories? Anything...

      Thanks

well all i can think of is not moving as soon as you wake up, keeping your eyes closed, and thinking of the dream again, that usually sends me right back to dreams....

Yes I have, it's great. If I wake up in the middle of a good dream and it's not morning yet, I simply don't move and I focus on the dream that just ended, and more often than not I'll be back in no time.

As a bonus, I'd be lucid even if I wasn't when the first dream ended.

I agree that dream re-entry (DEILD) is cool. Once you get the knack of it it is so easy!

So what are some things I should look out for? Things NOT to do etc?

Don't stress out about how much you move. Try to keep it to a minimum, but don't give yourself an aneurysm over it.

The other day I had a cool dream (hard to explain in few words), and then my mind woke up. I could still hear dialogue, but I couldn't see anything. I hadn't opened my eyes or moved yet, so I was still asleep in a way. I was just conscious enough to try out something I'd read about (link later). I thought to myself, "Take me back to the dream." I had my eyes closed because I thought I would wake up otherwise, but I eventually had to open them to see in the dream.

When I got back into the dream, I commanded, "Increase lucidity!" and then whispered "and stabilize..." and did that a couple of times. The colors and details were crazy intense. I could see very detailed castles and mountains all along the horizon. Everything had a bright pink or blue tint to it, almost surreal like in a video game.

      Here's the link.

And to think... When I was younger I "wished" for things in my dreams when all along I could have just demanded them.

I had read this just before bed, so it was fresh in my mind. If you want lucid dreams, you have to think about and read about it often. Back when I was trying out AP, I had a lot more lucid dreams because I was thinking about it more. For a while now I've just been going with the flow. If lucidity happens, it happens. If not, oh well.

There was another time when I was maybe 8 that I had a dream I woke up from. I actually opened my eyes for a few seconds and then decided I wanted to keep dreaming. I just closed my eyes and found myself back in the dream.

      Cool LD, Wolfsbane.

Last night I DEILDed even after my partner asked me a question, I rolled over, and answered her. Some people have a hard time DEILDing after moving, but a lot of people don't.

Also read the tutorial carefully. It is pretty borning, but there is some important stuff in there you don't want to miss.

It happened to me for the very first time yesterday morning. It wasn't a full lucid, though - but going back into the same dream after waking is definitely a first for me!
