Stopping pain in lucids.
A friend of mine Has a problem that pain is incredibly real in his lucid's, he even told me of a time where he his hit by a cannon blast and woke up with terrible pain all over his body.
Does any one know how he could fight this as to have a better more fear free lucid experience.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

perhaps trying to control pain in waking life would help.
I used to take some martial arts, and along with that some QiGong. The basic concept is that you are to use your mind to channel the energy in your body (including pain) through to another location (whether still in the body or to exit it from the body -- you can also take outside energy to input into your body) Hand motions help with the process, too.
but this is merely an alternative process for pain relief.....if it doesn't work, that's what Advil is for!!

To believe there will be no pain in lucids, thats what I did to make pain the most real possible in lucids lol If it worked for the opposite <.<

Is it not possible that he experiences pain, and the pain is represented as elements battering him in his dream? Perhaps some stretching before bed, blood flowing could help

I have this problem to. I feel pain in all dreams, you could tell your friend to not get hit as often, or to constantly have a shield around him. Otherwise make sure he is thinking that nothing can hurt him while hes dreaming.

I agree that actual physical pain may be the problem. I know that for about a week once a month my LDs hurt! If this is the case he may want to visit a Dr. He could also stretch, as Parakonstantius suggested. Meditation, relaxation, or even gentle exercize could help. Taking an asprin before bed might be an idea he could use.
It is also possible that is mind is just extra good at re-creating pain in dreams. In this case I suggest meditating during the day and before bed using a mantra like "I feel comfort and pleasure in my dreams." Focus on what he wants, not on the pain. He could also try taking a pain pill in the dream, see if that convinces his mind to stop.

I'm not to "gung ho" on pain outside of dreams as you awake. But as for cancelling out pain in the actual dreams it is best done when you are stabilized and lucid. Then you must imagine that the thing coming after you never hits you.
Whether it be fists, knifes, bullets, blasts, etc. If you believe that whatever came at you never made contact with you than you do not experience I.E. it goes on like it never happened. This is the solution to the problem.
Tried and tested by many.
Sorry for the double post if this post could be deleted or something of the sorts otherwise that's fine I suppose.
Or I could add something so it's not totally useless.....
Umm. Another way you could avoid pain is to equip yourself with invulnerable clothing so that you could not be injured. Or have a force field around you the entire time. However these would require more Lucidity and dream control. Then simply suggesting/believing that you will feel no pain, or will not be hit, etc.

Thanks for all the suggestion. I'm sure one of these will help. I tell you guys how it turns out.
