Hey fellow forum users just a quick question i hope im on the right bit of the forum anyway here goes ive had about 2 LDs so far dont get me wrong they have been great :P but a problem i have is i cant seem to be able to walk through walls is there anyway i can get around this ? :(
Hmm yes this is very tricky sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. What I do is move up to a wall and sort of push my body through it. You have to know that it's going to work however or else it will feel solid. It sort of feels like you are phasing through the wall if you catch my drift.
Also you said you have had 2 ld's and that's not very many remember practice makes perfect. You just have to believe that you are going to phase through the intended object and doing such will make it happen.
Remember LD's are 99.9% Belief/Willpower .1% luck.
Everything you want done in dreams are all about believing. That' s sorta how the dream world goes. If you believe you can make someone turn into a banana, it will happen.....well, it worked for me. I just knew/believed.

Try sticking your hand in first (it might be easier to get your head around than pushing your whole body through at once). Once you have your arm elbow deep in a wall, then your confidence in its permeability should be pretty high, hopefully allowing you to go right on through.
I actually failed to walk through a wall last night, which was annoying, because it usually works fine.
What I usually do is try to walk through the wall while facing the opposite direction, or I hug the wall and push myself through slowly.

Kind of strange, when I become Lucid I know it's my mind so I have complete control over it so flying and moving through walls - no prob. But summoning people is difficult for me, summoning anything is difficult, as well as teleporting to a place I want to be.
For me I just know the wall is something I made so I just ignore it as an object that would block me and move through it like it isn't there.

I just hug the wall and slowly slip through, once it resolidified when I was halfway through though, that actually hurt too :?. I'd reccomend practice on a flyscreen or glass door first though, that was the first thing I could pass through.
I just go on ghost mode, then just pass trough them and when that fails, using 3rd person helps me a lot.
The wall is essentially a hologram. Just pass through it as it is no more than a projected image. Don't give yourself time to think about it, either. Just go for it.
What wall? Oh that... thats just a figment of your imagination, it doesn't exist really, oh and there's candy behind it!!
One of the first lucids I had I put my hand thru a solid wall just to see if I could..you just have to know you can walk thru the wall, and you will..
Imagine the wall as having the consistency of a waterfall
You could try parting the wall with your hands, like a veil.
I tend to think that I melt through it :) embrace it or push with your hands.
Anything that suits you really, it's actually a quite hard to advice someone because people think so differently :P
Often rather than walk through walls I just kind of pushed my hands and pulled them apart to form a new doorway. Works a treat. Then I can see whats on the otherside before commiting.
It might help to slip on those x-ray goggles first, that way you won't have trouble working out what's on the other side AS you walk through.
Then try without. :P

Th point it, just know that it's not really there. The biggest problem is that you don't know what's on the other side of the wall. That means that your brain has to create something on the other side, very quickly if you walk through it. Your brain can't handle that. If you already know what's on the other side, you will be able to go through it easier.
For me, walking through walls is like telekinesis. But instead of moving an object, it's like moving(rearranging) the particles/molecules in the wall. With that in mind, I just hold my hands forward, and walk ^.^
I just put my head against the wall and push as hard as I can.
Sometimes i cant just slide through so charge at the object so fast i whizz straight through it
unless its one of those amasing "bigger on inside than outside" walls sometimes takes my "hours" to get out
If I had another LD I would carry a modified gun from the game "Portal" that would create a portal to anywhere I wanted, including the other side of the wall. By the way, if you don't believe and know that something is on the other side of the wall, there wont be, so plan ahead :P
use cheats..
imagine you are in a game, and use cheats...use "noclip" then you will be able to pass through walls and fly.

What happens if you simply don't believe that you can walk through walls?
That's my problem. I can't seem to force a belief if I don't believe it. Hence, most of my LD's are so normal they are real-er than real life (except for the light switch failures).
And, does anybody know why we don't sink through the floor or ground? Do our beliefs tell us that a floor is solid therefore we are forced to walk on it rather than under it? So much to learn, so little time. My beliefs are killing my LD life.
if you were born and raised in water your dreams would be focused in liquid floors if you spend your life on solid floors you will dream of solid floors,
the first step to achieving control is belief (that said im still scared when i do a "leap of faith" of large buildings)
start small and gain confidence evetualy you will simply pass through or fool your brain into thinking its not there
but all that said i did turn the floor into custard once highly amusing :-)
You dont have to believe that you can walk through walls. But realize that you can do anything in a lucid. Realize that there's a difference between waking life and the dream world, and that you can walk through walls in the latter.Quote:

As has been said, you don't have to believe to accomplish something. You just have to do it. I've found that one of the biggest obstacles to dream control/influence is that you allow yourself too much time to think. The more you think about the possibility of something not working, the more likely it won't. If you want to jump off of a cliff and fly, take a flying leap and do it! Don't stand there looking over the edge, wondering just how far down it is.Quote:

If the walking through a wall thing works, I hope I don't bang my brains out trying to leap through a TV screen.
I was trapped in my house, and while trying to get out everything was blocked off. I was desperate, I opened the door and there was a brick wall behind it. I opened the window and the same happened. Eventually I went through a window flying and flew out then landed on my stomach and walked away. Then woke up unfortunately, I hate wasting time like that.
just close your eyes, remove all thought from your mind, and press your forehead to the wall. Walking through thick things is like walking through jello. Not hard, but you feel it pressing all around you. Cool, huh?
It's just like the matrix. :D
What if you get stuck inside the wall? Like those folks on Star Trek who sometimes materialize inside a rock.

I've done it...once when fleeing from someone. I believed i could do it...and i ran through the wall...either that or flew through it, im not sure. In your dreams...just believe that you can do it. Its your mind...youre in control..right?Quote:
