Your ways of operating in dreams

How do you like to operate when you change dreamscape or do thing is dreams? Do you use verbal commands, vizualise, combine senses, will it to happen? Anything that works for you goes.

It's merely curiosity that made me to create this topic :)

I like to use my sense of feeling as much as I can. My dreams have always been very vivid in the case of senses and especially sense of feeling.
For example : I rarely use verbal commands or even concrete thoughts to do something in dreams, I rather try to make a combination of all the senses. It may sound quite complicated to someone, but I have found it works like charm to me.

When I first learned to fly I tried to imitate the sensation of lightness and wind breezing on my skin, hear the wind howling and even smell it. By imitating, I mean to actually feel them on my dreambody :)

Maybe this is all because I use my sense of touch very much in my daily life so I am comfortable with it :P Only downside is that when experiencing things that stimulate strongly my senses, there is a great risk of waking up :/ but well I am fine with it ^^

I visualise as hard as I can and try to imagine the sensations of what I want to achieve, but it's not too effective for me. I've been meaning to try different methods though but my memory is terrible during dreams. I'm going to try verbal commands next time I get the chance.

That reminded me of the Matrix... now I think of it, next time im in an LD i'll walk up to a phonebox...

"Operator?... I'd like a change of scene please...."

hehe well that might work :) but I find it hard to spontaneusly change dreamscape while watching it. Easier to open portal or spin around..

yeah that works. I have succeeded in changing dreamscape with feeling alone, though it is bad ass hard :/ I once closed my eyes and tried to imitate feeling of sun burning my skin and ended up in beach somewhere :) only problem is that I usually open my real eyes if I tend to close them in dream. :/

That's why I suck at teleporting.

I don't will much my enviroment or use commands, as that doesn't work for me, instead I will myself to do something that would work the same and done. Like creating a portal, making my body change to fly/swim become stronger/weaker/smaller/bigger and etc things lol

This is what I usually do, but lately it hasn't been working well. Not sure why. I've always had pretty good control in changing my environment.

I've decided to try portals. We'll see how that goes.

Has anybody noticed that if you do some style too long, it starts to became unreliable? I once used almost verbal commands only and it worked well for week or two. After that something happened and I started to slip with control. So I returned to my old ways. They seem to be reliable enough :P

on a side note : I noticed that if I tried to autosuggest myself i.e ( If I see person x, I am in dream) the person I had seen for weeks in my dreams suddenly didn't appear for a week, no matter how I tried.

Weird. :)

Verbal commands, and directing with my hands. For example, if I want the sun to rise I'll use my hands to direct it up into the sky while telling it to

Oh I has always used the same style, probably it has to do with you thinking its no longer cool lol

I am an Illusionist in real life, so I try to reflect that in my dreams, and try to amaze my DCs
Like if I want to change the sceane, I will do it like a magic trick,
Give some kidna cover (Really no need because theres no trick invovled but still)
Like I might ask the DC to close thereeyes, and Ill close mine, and I will expect the sene to be difrent, and have the DC still with me..

Mike's example is just like from a textbook :) the more you can "personalize" what you do, the better, because the method you use works best if it's familiar and close to you.

I wave my hand and let it happen. I get very cocky in my LDs. I'm like, watch this ;) I like to show off to DCs.

I just do it. I believe fully I can do everything, and so I can. I only have to think about something and it happens :P

Well i'll try anything to get control lol...But like what if there isn't a door around to go through? And how do I make the portals? Just imagine it? Cause like trying to use all my senses and stuff seems like it'd make me wake up =/

I don't think it would, even though I can never know ;)

Just try it, and if you do wake up, try DEILD, and if that fails, bad luck, but you've gained a worthful experience ;)

Yep.
I do party's :D Not birthdays! Argh its hard to perform for kids..
But yeah, Magic has alot of deferent possibilities..
Anything that seems impossible actually is possible..
weather it happens the way you want it to or not is another story.

The only time I had to changed scene was by spinning and it worked. I spun and found myself in the washroom with no doors so I spin again and I was outside in mid air and I was able to move forward in standing position.
