Thread: Can u control who your dream guide is?

Its your mind, if you say it works than it will!

I always label any character who seems to be aware I am dreaming and helps me as a dream guide. I've had a few recurring characters, but they never seem to last more than a few weeks or months.

For some strange reason I seem to have two types of dream characters. Some seem engaging and intelligent. They might even know that I am dreaming. Other characters seem like mindless zombies. They can barely even talk, let alone have a conversation with me or help guide me. I would be interested to see if I could change one of these mindless characters into an intelligent one. It sounds simple, but I have never been able to. I always just have to abandon them and try somebody new.

I think you just revealed to us who you worship.

Anything can be your dream guide. Bowser is an excellent choice. The funny thing about creating a dream world is that you can selectively choose what is canon, so if you want something different later, you can go ahead and change it!

Would they say OK, and actually be your DG. Would they say yes but be lying, or would they refuse.

Maybe a more experienced LDer could try this out, and see the resultz.

p.s. Maybe you could give them an amulet/necklace to wear which makes them your drem guide

While I think you can do almost everything in dreams, I'll have to disagree with this.

What I believe is that DG are part of our sub-conscious and I personally want them to manifest as they are. I currently have 2 DG and possibly one that I cannot get to appear into my lucid dreams. He has been appearing constantly in my regular dreams though.

Weird by the way, I have both female and male dream guide, but I think this possible 3rd one is somewhat androgynous.. don't know for sure yet

Thats a dream sign. He is probably trying to tell you that you are dreaming!

Yeah I know, I always become lucid after he/she appears but problem is, or what I believe it is, I am not ready to find him/her. I am working on it, trying to find this person in the ocean of my twisted mind

Sidenote : I am very spiritual person, even though not in a religious way. So, I will use this as my excuse if I ramble something that seems a little off ;P

Well seeing as 'dream guides' do not exist, I would say yes, you can do anything at all in your dreams

I cannot even comprehend how someone could possibly believe a dream guide is real, or that they are 'pre selected', or that they 'know things you dont' or that they are trying to 'help you out' or whatever else these magical dream characters do

To me, the entire concept of a 'dream guide' just seems..idiotic

I believe they are part of my sub-conc. Considering, I had a "dreamguide" far before I know that this was called lucid dreaming and there was a whole community for us.

Of course I'll accept your viewpoint too if you think like that they prolly won't manifest themselves as they did with me. I was spiritually pretty lost when my first "dreamguide" appeared in my dreams. She has helped me since, that's all that matters for me.

Although Bowser is awesome.........................And I have alot of James Bond films.....................And I did go to disneyland 1 time...........
