Staying calm in dreams?

Ok i had a lucid two nights ago. Long story short I was stealing bolts off people hub caps and the cops chased me and i was like woa wtf, this cant be happening lucid dream. I rubbed my hands together and it was like putting my glasses on in real life; everything became sharp and clear. Then i tried to do so much stuff it was crazy. Upon shutting my eyes while trying to teleport (-.-) i woke up (Wont be doing that again). Anyway, whenever i become lucid everything becomes so exciting and i just wanto do everything at once, kinda like im not fullly in control. Does anyone else have this problem and how do you combat it. Do you use a special technique to calm yourself down and think clearly and slowly?

What I do is to stand still all of a sudden. I realize I;m dreaming then force myself to stand still and just take in everything around me. I still get excited in the fact that I'm amazed that my mind made all of this, but not excited in that i rush off and wake up. Try to stand still and eb amazed about the world you created. The slolwy walk around and start to do what you want to do. One step at a time

One step at a time That's exactly what i do most of the times, like if i'm with a dc i would tell them that i'm dreaming, then stand still and observe my surroundings, think about what i want to do, walk around a bit start doing what i want to do.

Yeah. I just get lucid in a dark alley, look around, stabilize, then toss a couple hundred incendiary flares everywhere.

Breathe, notice the detail in your surroundings. Also, plan what you are going to do in your dream ahead of time. "Fly to Hawaii, swim with dolphins." Keep the same goal until you get it done. The harder you focus in real life, the more your focus will translate to the dream!

Ok, thanks for the suggestions guys. Ill give them a shot next time i become lucid (that could be a while)
