If spinning always wakes you up then dont do it. Staying calm is key, if you do that youll have a false awakening or another dream will start and you can stay lucid. |

I've read all the tutorials and I'm not sure what's wrong. When I become lucid, I'll be in a really boring place like my dining room, so rather than walking out the door and taking the time to walk or fly or drive somewhere, I try to spin around like a little kid, with my arms out. I keep my eyes open and try to visualize a beautiful beach or something, but I always just wake up. Why does this happen, when it's supposed to have exactly the opposite effect? What am I doing wrong? |

Use a remote to change the scene as you would the TV channel. Buy a remote control or use the existing TV remote if you don't mind sharing it with reality and put it somewhere you will remember so next time when you are lucid run to where you put the remote and use it...takes practise to remember to use the remote though. |

Same thing happens to me with the spinning and rubbing my hands. I have found a great tip on Advanced Lucid dreaming #9 on youtube. Look for the first door you see. Imagine whatever you want to be on the other side, and open it. Then you will be wherever you want. Read one of the last posts on my Dream Journal if you want to see how it works. |

Me too. Spinning sucks. The key is the feeling of movement. So do something equally intense, but less disorienting, like sprinting or flying. |
