anybody had the same experience i'm always able to get up when i want but this time i'm not sure that was actually a dream

I'm not sure what you did, but it sounds like you were having some major regrets and ended up giving yourself a nightmare over it. The experience of seeing your body is pretty simple, you just dreamt an out of body experience, and so you saw your own dream body from your dream's vantage point. It can be freaky. I had a false awakening and woke up next to my own head once. Luckily I just realized it was a dream and went to go do something.

If this ever happens again, next time try to remember that it is just a dream. Instead of focusing on the fact that you can't move or get out of bed (which is what your attention will go to and what will make it the main point of the dream and harder to get out of) just relax and try to just keep telling yourself it's a dream, you don't even have a body so there is no reason you'd be stuck in bed, or floating around if you didn't want to be.

It's also possible that you were in sleep paralysis and hallucinating, although it sounds more like it was a dream. You'll have to tell me, I wasn't there :tongue:

If you want stranger explanations, Beyond Dreaming can certainly give them to you. But to me, this sounds like a dream and nothing more.
