Hi! Congratulations on the lucid! |
|
Okay, so today i woke up for about 10 min then went back to bed, and then I had the most realistic vivid dream i have ever had in my life. It was me and a couple of my friends sitting on the beach.. then all of a sudden I was at my house over seas which i havent been to in 3 years. |

You merely have to change your point of view slightly, and then that glass will sparkle when it reflects the light.
For it to be real to you in your dream you have to believe in it with absolutely no doubt. I used to doubt and I fell or I just hovered. Now I soar. When I am lucid and I find a window and I am hundreds of feet off the ground there is NO fear because I know I CAN fly and that is what makes it become totally natural and controllable. |

I see, thanks for the advice :] I'll be sure to try it tonight! |

I fly almost every night in my dreams, but I'm VERY RARELY ever lucid for them. The world of my dreams is very much as real as life and it has followed certain "rules" for as long as I can remember. |
|
You could try swimming in the air or flying like a bird, this could maybe help you fly better. |
|
i have the same problem....doubt. The lucids i experienced,as amazing as they were for me,were nothing more than me walking around and observing things.i do try things. it just doesnt work. |

It's not about believing you can fly at all. The reason things in dreams don't work reliably is because we don't have a developed system of experience to draw on to help us fly. You almost never have problems walking! |

I recommend reading the full dream control tutorial that the dream guides have put together, but this is the one specific to flying. |

Pretty much everything everybody has said in this thread. You have to "know" that you can do it in order to actually do it. |
|
Ya, I noticed that doubt is the main thing ever holding me back from doing certain things in lucid dreams. Like when I try to go through a wall or something like that, thinking "it's impossible" even indirectly and in the very back of my head causes it to not occur. |
|
This entire reality is SELF REFLECTION. You reflect your essence and project it onto the universe.
"Most conversations are just monologues with witnesses."
"Life represents the movement of knowledge across the spectrum of consciousness."
I learned to fly in my dreams long time ago when I was young and had my first LDs. |

I think that "But that's just me..." should be seen more often on DV. Not every technique will work the same for each person. One of the reasons I compiled that tutorial (with numerous suggestions from the forum), was so that people could get ideas of how to get themselves off of the ground. There's no one way to do anything in a dream, so if you find that something isn't working for you, try something else. |
