      Need help changing the scene.

      I have read the stickies..

I just had 5 lucid dreams over the course of 3 days. I had full control which was cool. I need help changing the scene though.

I would close my eyes and know when I wake up It will be different. It only sort of works and it's not very vivid.

I would walk through a door and tell myself that the scene will be different. It only sort of works and I lose that scene.

When I tried these everything went black so I tried to make a scene of green hills and focused on them and it just sort of faded and my old dream came back and I lost Lucidity.
Is there a way that can make it more vivid and permanent?

Personnaly, I wouldn't spend all my LD time trying to go somewhere else when you already are somewhere amzing but I don't want to be telling people what to do... Actually, since you've already read everything, i don't know what I could tell you for I only had 2 LDs yet... Maybe you should let it more natural. When I cross a door it normally has changed naturally. Maybe if you don't concentrate enough it will happen? I guess you can't relie on anything I say anyways...

You're not the only one with trouble doing this - none of the "traditional" methods have worked out for me, but then I accidentally found a way to chang the scene. I haven't had the chance to try it out again (or rather, I never remember to try it), but here's what I did. I don't know how reliable the method is, but it worked for me 4 consecutive times in one dream so I suppose it's worth a try.

Push yourself against a wall as if you're trying to pass through it, but stop as soon as your hands are firmly inside. Now imagine yourself lifting the whole scene away as you pull up with your hands. For me, this resulted in a quick and effective change of scenery with no loss of lucidity or vividness. Again, this might just have been a fluke, but I'd give it a try if I were you.

That's a really interresting technique and I'll try it even if I don't necessarily want to change scene...!

A good tip would be to create pre-generated mental ideas in your head of dream scenes before you sleep. Just think of how things look. Detail is not necessarily, only the basic structure and mental concept. The mind is wonderful in its ability to fill in the gaps in your visualization. A good way to practice dream-scene shifts in dreams would be to walk from door to door in an indoor building, and loudly declaring mentally what the next room will look like. Examples are: "empty blue room", "long white hallway", "bare closet", "red bedroom". The list goes on and on.

      I like that idea.

When I want to change scenes, sometimes waving my hand works. Other times, opening a door works. But most of the time, I can't change the scene directly. D:

Usually direct action doesn't do the trick unless you have 99% belief in your ability to change things. I struggled with this ability for the longest time, but the basics behind them tend to have a consistent success rate in my lucids and non-lucids.

I'm new to this forum and I'm glad I found it. I've always had vivid, long and fun dreams all of my life. I've also experienced several lucid dreams but after reading this site I can now control them better.

For changing the scene it really is all about truely believing it will happen. For me, walking around a corner works best. Last night I was in a cool environment, but then I had a false awakening which took me out of the dream but quickly I went back, except the scenery had changed slightly, it was sort of the same but I couldn't find my way around like before, as I walked around a corner I said to myself that "around the corner will be the same place I was at before" sure enough I was back there.... I've done this before several times before it always works... look for a corner and believe it.
