Angry While you guys are busy trying to fly I can't even manage to walk.

Argh I just typed up a whole page and tried posting and it said I wasn't logged in even though I was.

Anyways. I've had about six lucids so far and the first two were fairly short but decent I guess. But the last four lucid dreams I've had have been more like lucid nightmares. Every Saturday I use the wbtb combined with the mild technique and it seems to be working well for me as far as gaining lucidity but I have very very little control in my lucid dreams.

The last four lucid dreams have been very similar in that I will be in my room and suddenly realize I’m dreaming without noticing anything strange or doing reality checks I just recognize the dream feeling and I think the mild also helps. So I usually start out on my bed and say to myself “wtf am I doing in my room I got shit to do!” So I try to walk to my door but every time it seems a seemingly impossible task.

It’s usually dark and I have very little visual clarity. I try to move but my dream body doesn’t quite function properly. My room looks all distorted and when I do manage to walk I’m hunched over and walking very slow and it requires great effort just to move. If I manage to reach my door I will suddenly appear in my bed again. Again I will try to move but with little luck. In one lucid I had I reached the door and respawned in my bed five times in a row. It is extremely frustrating.

I’ve tried rubbing my hands but it has very little effect. I have also tried dream spinning and it does nothing either although every once in a while after dream spinning an ominous figure will appear in my room. One time a huge snake appeared in my room and another time I saw a shadowy figure that looked like me staring at me.

It’s like my subconscious is taunting me. I use the mild technique using mantras to get my subconscious to help me become lucid. It’s like my subconscious is like ok I’ll give you a lucid but it will be a shitty one in which you will have no control. Any ideas?

      Try screaming "Clarity!"
Try imagining you have some steroids that make you able to walk in your pockets,
Try imagining you have some pills in your pockets that make the dream more clear.
      They all could help

If you can't walk, fly. Flying isn't any harder than walking in a dream, so why not skip a step?

I had similar experience in one lucid - I flyed out from my flat but "respawned" in it two times in a row. I have not saw "ominous figure" but had a feeling that some power do not want me to get out (At third time I was able to make my way out).

You may try to deal with this ominous figure, either by word or action whatever you feel more appropriate. Another way maybe to solve some simple math problem - for example, multiply 3 by 3 or add 8 to 10. It will change your focus and stimulate left hemisphere.

The reason for the "respawning," AKA "Chain FAs" is because you're too awake, and your real body is trying to move. Try laying back in your bed for a few seconds, and then try to move. You might also be on the verge of waking up.

Darkness, a night environment, and haziness may signify your dream is too unstable, and you should try to stabilize it.

I would stabilize the dream, then move around the room for a while. Maybe try to get a feel for the dream's level of stability, and when you're comfortable with the level of stability in the dream, then go to open your door.

Perhaps you haven't visualized what's on the other side of the door, so you just respawn every time you try to leave?

First of all, SPIN. This always helps me!

Second, maybe you should try a different technique. I would reccomend DILD or MILD. In those, you appear immediately in your dream scene, and so that should hopefully eliminate the problem you're having in your room.

ahhh this is aggrivating i've had the same thing happen in several dreams I feel paralyzed from the waist down except for me to move I have to grab onto door frames or rails or whatnot to pull myself forward or I can't move.
I think it's kind of dumb to suggest something technical because, if we can't do something natural like walk in our dreams then how can we do something like spinning? It literally feels impossible to walk and incredibly frustrating.
      Any better ideas?

I've never been unable to walk, but I've overcome being unable to fly before. Dreams can be like a set of those Chinese finger cuffs (you know the ones that look like tubes?) in that the more you force something, the less likely you'll be able to do it. My advice would be to relax and try walking without focusing on it.

      Hope that helps...

That's pretty funny. In some of my mini-nightmares, thing happen like spiders try to get me, but the problem is all I can do is flail my limbs.

      say what?
thats funny you'd tell us we didnt know we were dreaming.
I've had 2 lucid dreams where i just COULDNT walk.
someone in the dream even asked me what was wrong and I involuntarily answered "I had a stroke".
Someone explained that it may just be because we're too aware of our real body and that makes it harder to move..others say its because we're starting to wake up and move our real bodies.
Everyone else makes sense though thanks for your responses everyone

try focusing on where you want to go and just "move" towards it.

at least that solved the problem for me.

let me get this straight..all of these experiences happen in your bedroom? the bedroom is dark and distorted. and movement is very difficult? that sounds like what is commonly known as an etheric projection, or a mild OBE.

I'm not saying you have to believe in OBE's. But the experiences 'sound' the same. So maybe the 'same' advice would work. Instead of trying to move, think of where you want to go. Try floating. Or imagine yourself at the door. You want to create a more mental approach to moving to unstick yourself. And if the bedroom door aint working, try the window. Fly out the window. Once you leave your bedroom the dream should stabalize and movement should be fluid again

This has happened to me before, only I would walk, then fall, as if gravity just became 100 times more effective. Then I wouldn't be able to get back up, so I'd respawn on my bed. When I respawn, I'd see where I was laying on the floor... Like a shadow of me as if I was laying there and sitting on my bed in the same exact moment. Then, everything gets dark and gets blurry right after I see myself. Then I wake up and I feel like someone whacked me in the back of my head with a baseball-bat or something, but after about a half-second, the pain would instantly go away. Creepy, huh?
