      RC Passing

I haven’t been around for a bit because I really need to get on with doing work on my dissertation and coursework (right moan over) but I have been managing to keep up with my lucid dreaming. However some strange stuff has been going on, my dreams now are very vivid but as a consequence things that used to work now don’t. I’ve found that my finger though hand RC no longer works at all. At first I thought it was just messing up but last night I tried putting it through the floor as well as my hand and neither worked. I assume this is because
      1) I have an accurate model in my mind for what should happen when I do a hand RC
      2) The reality of my dreams leads me on a subconscious level to totally believe it is not possible to phase objects through one another.
      3) Reality checking using this method in situations where I am not dreaming has made me believe that it will pass all the time when I think things are real.
      4) Im actulay just messing things up and even though its happened a lot im just not taking enough notice :-)

The only thing I’ve managed to find that works so far is standing up and falling over then seeing if I fall as fast and it hurts as much as I think it should. Suffice to say this is a bad reality check and I only did it to make absolutely certain I was dreaming before doing something life threatening.

I’ve heard posts mention the passing of RC’s from time to time and I just wonder if people who find they become unreliable give up using them all together or just adopt different ones?

Im thinking the nose one. The falling one actulay proved itself to be fairly usefull last night as I fell off somthing and thought hang on im not falling fast enough but it wasent enough to induce a decent level of lucidity just stoped me being realy scared :-/

Cheers for the input anyways :-)

I'd definitely suggest changing to the "breathing through pinched nose" one. I've tried many others (including the finger through the palm) and the only one that has worked 100% of the time has been the nose one. That is all I ever use now. Good luck
