      Extreme Vivid??

Hey guys, just a few quick questions.. I have had a few lucids so far, and they were pretty cool to the point where i knew i could do what i want, but, vividness was really lacking.. when i looked around, everything seemed really grainy or box-like.. sort of like old-school playstation graphics. Now i have heard that lucids can get pretty intensly realistic. i was just wondering from some of the the more experienced ones, what has helped your lucids become more life-like? any techniques? and how real-looking have your lucids been?

      Much apreciated,

Hehe, PS1 had some great graphics.

A few things that help the sight of the dream, as well as the stability is feeling objects, and shouting out for more clarity. If that doesn't work, you could try focusing really hard on one object. Try to add as much detail to that one object as possible, soon, the whole area could change.

      Good luck.
      Bollocks.

Yeah. In my lucid dreams, I'm always astounded by the detail, but the color is lacking. Ill try delphinus's technique in my next lucid.

In addition to what Delphinus said, you can also try "dream spinning", a technique where you spin around in circles in the dream, and after you're done spinning the clarity of the dream is a lot better. It works really well and I use it all the time. Another easy technique is to rub your hands together, this can also really increase the vividness.

However, it may just depend on the stage of the REM cycle that you are in or if you're waking up.

I use the focusing technique, and it works almost without fail. The particular technique I read so long ago specified to stare at the ground, so I've always done that.

Another technique I use when things begin to fade, and I can tell I'm losing it, is to overload the senses. Basically touch, taste, and smell everything you can possibly get your hands on. Haven't used that one in a while, but it seemed to get pretty good results.

      Cheers
