      Interrogating yourself

Just an idea I thought I'd throw out there.

For those, like me, who want to explore their subconcious a little, why not try meeting up with yourself in a dream and asking yourself a few questions? Maybe you'll even learn something, hey? From what I've learned, the subconcious mind comes in one flavor: the truth. I'm guessing it would be like talking to a you without doubt, self denial, religion, or cause. I don't get lucid very often, so it would be great if someone could try this out for me.

      Keep me updated .

detroitLions1970- i have ld's almost every week if not every day, and this has been an idea of mine but i never got around to it. but now that i see someone other than me has this idea and is interested in the the outcome, i will give it a try and see how it goes and give you my results. i bet you i will have an answer within 7 days of this post. wish gl, but i probably wont need it. p.s it wont be an interrogation, more of an interview.

Do not try and bend the spoon. That's impossible. Instead...only try to realize the truth. There is no spoon. Then you'll see, that it is not the spoon that bends, it is only yourself.

This reminds me of a great Task of the Month we tried a while back:
      http://www.dreamviews.com/community/...ad.php?t=44482

I step out of my bed (and out of my body), and walk out to the living room. It's too dark to see anything, and I can tell the dream is very unstable. I try to 'will' the lights to turn on, but I can feel the world slipping away when I focus too hard. In the darkness, I have this feeling like there is someone next to me who is about to attack me, and I'm worried this is about to become a nightmare. I run into the bathroom, hit the lightswitch, it doesn't work, but the lights are on anyways for some reason.

I keep worrying that there is someone next to me, just outside my vision, with a knife, and I know that the more I worry about it, the more it's going to come true. I turn quickly and turn him into someone unthreatening... My brother. When I see the mirror, I remember the task of the month, and decide to give it a try.

I lean across the counter toward the mirror, and inspect my reflection. It looks perfectly like me. I start to wonder if this is really a dream. It's so convincing, almost too detailed. Just then, my reflection winks at me, and I say out loud "Tight!". As I open my mouth to say it, I notice that my reflection has messed up Hillbilly teeth. I then also notice that he's wearing a white softball tee, with black 3/4 length sleeves.

I put my hand on the mirror to try to reach in, but the surface feels way too solid. I decide to try to pretend the mirror is not there, and try to reach through like it's a window. I put my had down, and then quickly reach up and right through the mirror to grab my reflection's shirt. When I hit the surface of the mirror, I get the most intense pain in my hand and arm. It feels like peeling off a really bad scab, or what I would imagine peeling the skin off your hand would feel like.

I pull my reflection forward, and he doesn't resist at all. He floats out of the mirror, and it seems like he's just a head and shoulders. I ask him "Why do we dream?". He smiles his hillbilly smile and says "I guess, at a certain point, we just need something to keep things interesting".

I let go of him, and he sort of refocuses back into the background of the mirror without moving. I sort of wonder if I hurt him pulling him out, since my hand hurt so bad going in.

I spend a bit more time flying around outside on the lawn, changing my size so I can fly between the blades of grass. Things go downhill from there. I find my dream journal to write the dream down. It's sitting in a sheep pasture, it's about 2"x2" in size, and is filled with mini travel photos. I end up having a picnic on the lawn where I argue about whiskey vs bourbon with some really bossy lady.

Hahaha! Nice link Shift, also, thanks for the link RobotButler. In answer to your question reapsltd, I have nothing in particular that I think you would need to ask from me. Use your imagination, amuse yourself a little .

I can't help but back up Shift's link she gave me. Last night, I went lucid for the first time in about 8 months, and minutes after becoming lucid - my mum approaches me, in a supermarket, and offers me a job to assassinate someone! (Which I accepted, seeing an opportunity for some fun ). Seriously... DCs Say the Darndest Things!

Good idea. Just summon a DC of urself and talk 2 him. If i get more common LD's, then ill try.

Now that I think of it, if you could make yourself a commonly recurring dreamsign, getting lucid might be easier, am I right? Its different when there is something external - you're mind makes an excuse, sometimes, and you just walk right past that floating car or elephant robbing a newsagency. If it were another YOU, I'm fairly sure you would stop and think; "WTF?". Just a suggestion.

Oh I remember once talking wtih my subconcient, the only thing I wanted to know was about my DW name, but it never got to answer my question because my mom felt like waking me up at the time, it was so frustrating, I even went into a half-awake state to tell her not to, which made her do it faster because I was having a "nightmare", which is silly considering she knew I like nightmares <.<

Seems you're getting the hang of it though, I just read another thread where you said you interrogated another DC while lucid. Nice work!

are you sure that was me. I saw someone today who's name is "user".

do you remeber which thread by any chance?

EDIT: Ohh. I know what post you were talking about. I said that I wanted to interrogate a dc but mine dont have any substance.
A lot of my dc's are slow and non-responsive when im lucid. I need them to give me some realistic interaction.

      also thanks
