Solutions to help perfect my LDs

      Hey guys,

It's been more than a year since I've revisited the forum.
      How's everything going? (:

I've mastered getting lucid in all my dreams, but there are still some problems when it comes to achieving total control over the dream.

      1. Initially, most of my LDs begin in semi-darkness (night time outside), and this makes me uncomfortable, so I try making it bright again, sometimes I fail.
What is possibly repetitively causing my LDs to begin at nighttime- how do I make it begin at day?

      2. DCs act completely unpredictably and unexpectedly sometimes. Is this normal? When I am completely lucid, I understand that DCs are all actually ME, and therefore can't do anything without my command.
But suddenly, one would unnecessarily be rude or say something I would not say.
How to amplify control over DCs?

      3. I find it difficult to do really outrageous things in LDs, possibly because part of my mind is still attached to reality while LDing.
eg- When I fly, it's more like a floating or a swimming in air, so I can't move at superman speed.
Also, I rarely fly above a certain height, like the height of a telephone pole.
It seems impossible to do insane things like fly into space for instance.
How to conquer grip on reality?

      My most loathed problem:
      4. Occasionally, after getting lucid for about ten minutes, my eyelids will suddenly forcefully get very heavy, narrowing my vision in the dream.
I know that if my eyelids close, I will wake up IRL. So I struggle to keep them open but they grow very heavy, completely interfering with my LDing.
What is this and how do I stop it from happening?

      Thanks in advance!
Apathy is a lovely escape route.

Well, there's quite a few things I can tell you, so I'm going to answer them using the numbers that you provided.

      1. You seem to have a very logical, progressive mind. You go to sleep at night, so when you "wake up" in a lucid, some part of your subconscious knows it's night. Try going inside, and turning on lights. Close the door behind you. Then, when you look under the crack in the door, the light level should be the same both inside and out. Open the door and it's day. Or try yelling at the sun to come up. Even try pulling it like a mime. Try a couple things, as different things work better for different people.

2.Again with the logical, progressive mind. Without focusing attention on DCs, they are left to their own devices. In this case, the subconscious tries to create a sense of normality, and rude people are a part of normal life. On a side note, trust me on the whole logic thing. Given my hypothesis is right, your brain works a lot like mine.

      3. The logic is what's sinking you. Let go of your expectations. Don't even think about how high you're going, just focus on getting there.

      4. I have the same problem as you. My vision will start to blacken. The first time it happened, I woke up. From that point on, I was always scared I would wake up when it happened. Some ideas I've heard are doing things like focusing on your hands in the dream, and then prying your eyes open with them.

      1. I have that light problem as well. Usually all I have to do is point my finger at the horizon and the sun will follow the motions of my finger. I can position the sun where ever I want to in the sky and it will stay there.

      2. As for the DCs, that is completely normal. They are infamous for saying completely random and stupid things. http://www.dreamviews.com/community/...ad.php?t=19509 Though you'll probably find that some are actually very intelligent.

      3. I normally have the same problem when attempting to fly. If what Oniman says doesn't work, you can also try to use something that will help you to fly better, such as conjuring a magic carpet. Anything will work, though. Once I even hung onto my shoes as they towed me through the air!

      4. When your eyes begin to close themselves, try to focus on soemthing else in the environment to put your mind off of it. Usually if you forget that its happening, then you can prevent the effects of it.

      1. Huh, only had that problem once. I fixed it by closing my blinds, pretending that 9 hours passed (I don't really remember how... I just pretended that 9 hours passed) opened the blinds, and it was daytime! This was in my room, btw.

      2. I can normally make DCs do things by thought, sometimes through visualisation, and sometimes I just command them "verbally". Never ASK a DC to do something, because they might say no.

      3. I find it easier to fly higher and do ridiculous things if I tell myself I will do it, even in my head. "I am dreaming, this words is only what I believe it to be, therefore I can: (Thing)"

      4. Here's the thing. If your eyelids close, you don't necessarily wake up. I close my eyes to visualise things I want to appear in my dreams. I have no real solution, since this never happened to me. If you wake up, try to DEILD, I guess. Maybe accept your closing eyes and simply feel your way around your dream, and then after your eyes are "Rested" you can open them again. (This entire solution is mostly theory, again, I never had this problem)
On LD hiatus. Probably will start again around new years.

Or, you know -- randomly throughout this year and next.
