Has anyone ever gotten a light switch to work in a dream?

i've noticed that the brightness level in my dreams is almost always the same amount (similar to outside on a rainy day). i've also read in a bunch of places that its impossible to change brightness in a dream. why is that? is it something to do with the way our brains are wired? has anyone ever gotten a light switch to actually work in a dream?

      In lucid or not?

Yes for both. Testing electrical equiptment (normally lights) is a common RC. But, any RC can fail.

In lucids... If you have enough control, you can make it brighter or darker... Many times I've made in night from day.

      Scene change.

And if I'm in one place too long... And depending on the time... The sun may set.
      Bollocks.

It seems pretty random whether or not lightbulbs work for me in dreams or not. Often I have to find other methods for making it lighter, such as forcing the sun to rise. (I usually do this by pointing my finger at the horizon; The sun will follow the motions of my finger, and I can place it anywhere in the sky that I wish.)

Yeah, same here. Sometimes light switches work for me, and sometimes they don't. I do the same thing, when making the sun rise and set. Just point at it and "will" it to follow your movements.

Yeah, I've used a light switch.

When I first used it, the light came on weird, like something was blocking it and causing some weird shadows, but soon after the whole room was lit up like normal.

These things work for me most of the times, I still wonder why it doesn't for others though <.<

I have also noticed that the light level of a room seems to be a pivotal aspect in my dreams. I often find that if I go into a darker room or area then my dream is more likely to end quicker, but if I can go someplace where it is lighter than my dream might last longer.

I can say though that I have experienced different light levels in lucid dreams which vary from being in a very dark room or forest, to indoor lighting levels, to the very bright light of being outside on a summer's day.

The long worn out traveler was just now crossing the invisible film of clarity.
He found instantly that the lights were brighter and the grass really was greener.
