      360 degree vision

Hey guys. I haven't posted here for a long time but am glad Dreamviews still exists. So hopefully you can help me.

I became lucid a couple nights ago and started flying and doing the usual stuff. I asked myself what more could I do, and the fellow from Waking Life who talks about 360 degree vision popped into my head.

I tried terribly hard to attain this, but nothing happened at all. I can't even fathom what the experience would be like- it seems that I can't do it because I can't even comprehend the idea of 360 degree vision.

Has anyone had any success with this? If so, how did you do it, and what was the experience like? Did you see with your eyes or were they gone altogether? Thanks.
.......Then I think of my youth and of my first love-when the longing of desire was strong. Now I long only for my first longing. What is youth? A dream. What is love? The substance of a dream.

I too have tried that, but to no avail. I think it would be like trying to recreating non-existence, because it's something that we've never experienced it's impossible to draw from previous knowledge.

Oh? I'm a virgin, yet I've had several instances of dream sex~

I'm sure you could do it, if you tried again. Anything is possible inside of a lucid dream.

But the act of sex is fathomable, you clearly know what is involved in the act. Just like the experience of flying- none of us has done it but we can all picture ourselves doing it.

360 degree vision seems incomprehensible to us because our vision is severly limited. I had a lecture at school one time about God. We were speculating about "heaven" or whatever you want to call it, or simply "The Universal Spirit". It is very hard, if not impossible to imagine 'being' in such a place. Because to describe it, we could not use any worldy reference ie. sight, hearing, taste, touch, scent, even space and time would be foreign concepts. Furthermore, language restricts any possiblity of explaining "The Ultimate Spirit" because language is just a variation of symbols, and can only describe worldy things. It is so foreign to our experience.

And I think 360 vision is something like this. We have to literally step out of our physical bodies and erase our preconceptions and expectations of a human's vision to accomplish this. And I figure that's kinda tricky, if not impossible.

I'm sure it's possible, but I'd say sex is a bit easier to, for lack of better terms, 'dream up,' than 360 vision. Definitely try again though.

I have actually done it momentarily, right before waking up.

I thought about it several times IRL and tried to apply how I imagine it. The best I could come up with is to not see from my eyes but instead sense my surroundings like a mental picture. I managed to see everything in front of me, behind me, and above me. Admittedly, I don't really remember seeing the areas to my left and right, but I was concentrating more on seeing behind.

It is hard to imagine but doable. I still need to work on it. Unfortunately, I have been in a dry spell...

What I have more trouble imagining is duplicating myself and seeing through both me and my clone. Not sure if it is possible.

Try expanding it little by little. Real vision is maybe 160-ish degrees? Try going to 180, then 200, etc.

You have also masturbated in real life

Your brain just improvises with what knowledge it has. As long as you can imagine what something is like, then you can do it to some extent.

      Is 360-Degree Vision achievable?

So the only discussions I could find on DV about 360-vision are like a year old and the topic really intrests me. Has anyone here had any experience with 360 vision or even tried it? If so how do you go about attaining something so abstract?

Indeed, completely achievable. Though it is a bit difficult to reach it, and once there, it got me all disoriented. Anyway, just imagine your field of vision becoming greater and greater, until the left/right eye field vision merge.

Ive never done it but im sure that its hard. Not because its impossable but just because in the real world we have never see like that so we cant really imagine what it would be like.

I was always a dreamer, in childhood especially. People thought I was a little strange.-Charley pride

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say something extremely controversial, and I hope there are enough open minds in the audience. Dreaming is NOT just imagination. Or rather, it is, but not so limited as many seem to believe. Dreams are not just things we've experienced in waking life. The virgin who dreamt of sex. Sure, it could be what he imagines sex to be like is what he experienced. But I believe he experienced what any of us who have had it experience when dreaming about sex. This is because we are not only limited to our own experiences, but all experiences. My biggest piece of evidence to support my theory is the fact that even an infant dreams. Now, any nay sayers out there can argue that the only thing an infant dreams about is viscera and bright light, perhaps some nipples and rattlers, but come on guys. That's just gross. Another supporting argument for my theory is quite simple, thus in my opinion, quite solid. We may be able to concieve of the ability to fly, but we've never done it. So at best, our imagination would only conjure up the image of us moving through space and the sensation of wind rushing past us. But those of you who have experienced flight in dreams (I am one of them) can tell you that this is not the only sensation experienced. I personally feel a rush of euphoric energy pulsing throughout my entire body, one like I have never experienced. The same is true when I perform psychokinesis (telekinesis for those that prefer the term). That one is quite inexplicable as well as completely different from flight. It isn't just me thinking an object to move, there is definitely a distinct feeling and energy involved, one that I certainly don't just imagine up. Anyway, what I am really trying to say here is that I don't believe we are limited only to things we have experienced or can break down on a logical level. If we can concieve it, we can do it. After all, does anyone here know precisely how a light year is or at what speed one would have to travel to close such distance in a reasonable time? I couldn't tell you, but I can tell you this. I can travel at light speed in my dreams. So, evolo. Just keep at it, and I'm sure you will accomplish it.
