Summoning People: Whoever you want to summon inside your Lucid Dream. Just think when you turn around that the person you want to summon will be standing there. Or when you open up a door way, think that the person will be behind the door once you open it.
As far as objects, sort of the same concept, I have never really tried to summon objects..
Just imagine a sword in your hand, or near by you on a table or something and walk over to go pick it up..
Open doors helps me get to different places, you sound like a geek since you want to play with a sword, so maybe try taking a sword out of your backpack, along with maybe some potions and what not. How to summon the backpack? You don't have to just reach back and expect it to be there. If that doesn't work pick up a stick and pretend its a magic wand, there are also many other ways you can summon people/objects. You might even figure out ur own method. ^__^
When you want an item to appear, just imagine it behind something, out of view, then have a look and it should be there.
I imagined it was behind me, turned around, and there it was. I swung it around like an idiot for a bit, and then went flying. I was bloody pleased.
Spoiler for The sword-summoning dream, from my old journal:
I did it! I managed to have a new lucid dream. It happened this morning, during a lie in.
It started off pretty horrible, everyone I knew was having a go at me, and criticising me. I became lucid, aware it was a dream, and could feel I myself waking up.
So I used a technique I'd been taught, and spread my arms wide and spun around in a circle. This pulls you deeper into the dream, and it worked like a charm.
Excited that this had worked, I decided to try out another technique: how to make objects appear.
So I turn around, and imagine some weapons behind me (sounds strange, but I'd been thinking before, for a cool dream, one of the first things I should do is arm myself). I turn back around, and there are two swords, a big katana, and the smaller one.
After swinging this sword around like an idiot, and realising I had no knowledge of how to handle a sword, I also noticed that the whole scene was very barren. It might have all been white, except me and the sword, and the red porta-cabin type thing behind me.
First I try to imagine a better place, and couldn't do this, and decided to fly somewhere better. I got one of my friends from in the portacabin to come out, because he could fly, and he held on tight to me from behind, acting as my wings. And then I flew at will.
NOTE: While I should have wrote this down straight away, and have lost some details because of it, I did notice that once I was lucid and concentrating on certain things, everything was very barren and colourless.
This for me has been the most exciting lucid dream I've had, because I was getting a grip on the logic of dreams. I was able to see the limitations and rules my own mind enforces, and how to manipulate these.
Hopefully I'll be able to cross a few things of my dream to-do list sometime.
Here's what I think...
Considering the concept of reality checks. Just be regularly pretending to draw a sword and expecting it to be there should work. But we all have things to do in a day, and I guess we all would be considered weird if we pretended to play dungeons and dragons, so I would stick to what everyone else is suggesting.
I don't know if this will work but this morning i had success in summoning an object; what i did was draw the object in the air while imagining it in my mind. I was with this celebrity and an old woman, and i pointed my finger in the air and i drew a picture of a water bottle, and the bottle appeared and i grabbed it and started pouring water into a glass.
