hey, i had the same thing happen. how many times have you had this happen to you?
You have to start slow and remember, your brain isn't just trying to fly, it is also trying to make sense of things...one of which is that you can't really fly. It's also creating the entire environment around you.
Without too much effort, try to create a very basic surrounding (a plain square room, one color, nothing to fancy). Then try to fly. Think of it as a training room.
Sounds easy but it takes some getting used to. Just like anything else, practice makes perfect. Or, put the flying on hold and try something else and come back to it another time.
Unfortunetly, I am in a dry spell right now. PRobably more due to stress in my real life and haven't been able to focus my energies at night.
Good luck.
There are a lot of things people have done to help them fly. The Cusp came up with a method awhile back you might want to try out. The theory is sound, but I've had no experience testing it out since I already have a well defined system of flying.
There's also gravity manipulation (i.e. falling in the direction you want to go) and moving the world around you. Both of those were discussed recently.
Personally, I think you should just go play some video games. That's where most of my lucid skills come from.
When I try to fly I usually have to jump first. I do'nt have much control either but If I get a few leaps in I usually can take off after the second or third one.
does this ever happen to you? like after you get used to flying for some time and you get airbourne for a while, you suddenly gravitate towards the ground and it gets much harder to try to ascend again... it sux...
i usually jump real high then fall... then switch to my spiderman web slinging skills. maybe you should think of yourself as a superhero. superman or neo from matrix, whatever characters animation that seems most likely to be realistic, copy it.
Visualize yourself flying when you are in waking life. Imagine swimming, levitating, flying like a bird or an airplane. Base it on whatever makes the most sense to you, whatever you see yourself doing the easiest.
In your visualization, experience all sensory details. Imagine the wind on your face and such.
Anything we do in dreams is simply belief and imagination. If you can imagine it, and you believe you can do it in your dream, than you will. Sometimes imagining it is the harder part. Just fantasize about flying throughout the day. Daydream about it.
