      slow-mo lucid??

I had my first lucid last night!!

yeah, got my LD cherry popped and it felt amazing.

I had a problem. My dream seemed to be going in slow motion. It seemed to be more targeted on my body than the dream. I was punching people in the face, and my fist would move really slowly through space. So it was like my body was moving through a thick liquid.

Does anyone know why I was moving so slow in my first lucid?? thanks

i don't know why you were moving slowly, but you could use that... moving slowly could enhance your lucidity - normally when i'm running around doing random things i don't really have much control over the dream because i'm not really mindful of what i'm doing.

I've actually had this problem before, or a similar one. I used to get lucid dreams where I was completely aware that I was dreaming, yet when I tried to do something I would get stuck.

For instance, I knew I was dreaming and I was pissed that some attacker was chasing after me but my feet seemed as though they were glued to the floor. This went away after a while and a lot of trying. I don't know why this happened for me, but I think if you keep at it it should go away.

      Congrats on your first lucid.

Congrats on the lucid. The slow moving might just be one of those random things that just happen in dreams. Don't start expecting it to happen though, because then most likely you will have more slow-motion dreams.

When i induce a slow motion dream, i feel really laggy and kinda sick.

The best way for me to get out of this situation is to close my eyes and spin, and thinking only of speeding up time. Then when i open up my eyes things are back to normal.

But that is very general, if the problem persists with other lucids i can help you get out of it with a little bit more advice for you.

This happens to me when I try and run in my dreams/lucid dreams. A friend told me to try paying attention to details in the dream should that happen (or stare at your hands) and that should (theoretically) speed things back up a bit.

Ohh yeah, stare at your hands is a good one. Try to make them go fast and then try to see the world going fast as well behind your hands.
