I need help staying lucid

I have probably only had about 10 lucid dreams my whole life, and im 19 years old. Whenever i become lucid, i never stay lucid very long, usually just a few seconds. I think maybe when i get excited about being lucid, it causes me to wake up. How can i remain lucid? Ive heard of people staying lucid for hours.

And also, if i ever get really good at lucid dreaming, i would like to be able to create a place in my mind that i can go to, like an island or something and i can imagine anybody i want to be there with me, and to keep visiting this place everytime i dream. Is that possible?

next time you become lucid try to stay as calm as possible, even though it can be hard because becoming lucid is so damn exhilarating! next, once lucid and you notice the dream beginning to fade you can rub your hands together or start spinning around in circles and it should cause the dream to become more stable and make it last longer.

as for the second part of your post it is definitely possible, with lucid dreaming there is no limit to what you can imagine. and one way to achieve this is once you become lucid close your eyes and start spinning and begin to imagine the place you want to be and once you open your eyes you should be there!

and as for imagining people to be there, an easy way to summon them is to imagine something like "Megan fox is going to be just around that corner" then you walk around the corner and there she is!

I know that it is possible to have a recurring place in dreaming. My brother actually has an entire city that he sees quite often in his dreams, always the same city.
However, I don't know if it is possible to create a recurring setting. Good luck with it though. If you succeed at all, update us!

I have had lucid dreams since I was 11 years old. I got this ability to control some of my dreams because of the nightmares I often have had. At that time I realised that I could gain control over the dream just in order to stop it. When I hade a nightmare I started to look for a window to jump out of in my dream in order to wake upp. It was scary so I developed an other way to wake up from any dream, through that I close my eyes in my dreams and wake up. It is working even today. But I didn't try to come up with an idea what I was waken. I was forced to find a solution in my dreams, because I was scared of all the nightmares.

Later I began to control dreams on a more conscious level. I usually have one och two quaestions in my head when I am awake, during the day. The best is to come up with one question och one thing you want to dream about. Once you have one concrete thing in you mind you have to say to being repete it for yourself. For instance: Which grade do I get on my math exam?

You have to think simple, take one simple meaning in your mind and repeat it and decide that you dream about it. For me it takes sometimes a month or just a few days to get the answer in my dreams.

That happenes is that I remember my question in my dream and because of that I can take controll over the dream. The first thing to do when you have control is to find a place, a person, an objekt in your dream in order to continiue being in control. I usually look around and try to find one thing, whatever I can concentrate on. It is usually a mirror or a person.

I haven't though managed to meet people I want to in my dreams, that is too hard for me when I have lucid dreams.

I have met people that i wanted in my lucid dreams before...but like i said, it only lasted a few seconds..i think i get too excited thinking of all the things i can do, and it causes me to wake up...but the way i see who i want is to like walk around a corner or out a door and just keep thinking that person will be there when i go around the corner or out the door.
