      Go to another dimension?

Just wondering here...is it at all possible to change the very way your dreams appear? For example, instead of having it be just like reality, could you make it into a cartoon or video game or something? Like, if you were to look at the sky, could it be polka-dotted, like the comic books of old? Could you achieve this through passive control, rather than active (i.e., find a door to another dimension)? Has anyone done this before?

This is not only possible. It's common. I'm surprised you've never had a cartoon dream, or anything out of the ordinary happen in your dreams. That is crazy. Dreams are meant to be surreal. Anything that you can think of can happen in a dream. Anything.

Yeah, oddly enough, many of my dreams conform to reality. There's the occasional impossibility, but nothing so profound as a comic-book-style world. I'll definitely have to try this out once I become lucid. Hopefully, that'll be sometime within the month...maybe...if I'm lucky.

Well, Gl. It's definately crazy when you see a cartoon character like Peter Griffen just walking down the street. =P

There was a time I played a lot of videogames. In that time I mostly dreamt about being in the game. I was made out of pixels, 3th person view. I could slay dragons just like in the game and gain experience too! But this was something that just happend. I didn't controll it. It wasn't a lucid dream. The whole 2-D pixel world was something I experienced as normal. Haha... funny I didn't get lucid.

havent had this happen to me in a lucid yet, but im still trying to concur the sex craze haha.. But i did have this happen to me in a regular dream and well it was effing crazy and i think it was one of those that i think meant/means something haha but im not going to go much into detail about it here but.

It was like i was in a book. I was living a regular life in reality and what not, then went to this well up on a hill near my house. then when i got some water and came back to my house i was in another reality. Everything was like super vivid and colorful, like really kick ass graphics in a game, the grass was swaying and had a little color aura around it.. amazing. i then looked at the sky and the moon was this big skull, and the stars were huge and different colors. My story got switched up and like i was living in an alternate deminsion where things that happened differently happened. Like my mom died while giving birth to me in the new deminsion and not in the reality one. Really fun dream tho

I find that imagining you are neo in the matrix when you become lucid is a great way to increase creativity. ive had dreams so far out... they were like, REALLY far out.

Sometimes I SORTA have cartoon dreams. Like, I wouldn't be THERE, but I'd be playing my sims game and see it, but I wouldn't physically be there. Also, sometimes a random "commercial" (which never existed) that'll sometimes show up in my dream which is odd... I've never actually been IN a cartoon land before. But that would be so cool!

I spend a good deal of time in other dimensions, messed up places where my recall makes absolutely no sense in the context of this reality, but it makes perfect sense while I'm there.

Mostly weird energy dreams, in a realm where there is nothing solid, only energy. Different intensities and interactions, I don't know, I don't have the words to describe it.

Don't ask me how I got there. I shoulda taken that left turn at Albuquerque.

Hmm, I don't ever remember having a comic strip, or cartoon dream, ever. But no doubt, it is absolutely possible.

I experienced this once. It was very disorienting. All the energy, yellow and green shapes. Fascinating and terrifying, seeing the truth beneath the illusion, beyond personal perception.

If you are talking about lucid dream control the answer is yes and no. It depends on the brain while the dream is going on for most people I think it's difficult because the brain is used to seeing reality and adding special effects is like expecting something out of thin air. But if your are talking about normal dreams then yes it is possible. I personally have had cartoon and reality merging in normal dreams...but in lucid dreams it still leaves much to be desired. I have tried to enter a cartoon video on youtube before while lucid as an attempt to test the response of dream environment to like you mentioned...different dimension. It failed because the brain treated the monitor screen as reality and I ended up emerging out of the other side of the monitor.... I also tried creating a cartoon character into reality but also failed because it could not form but had something move past the room very fast instead. That was just one of the many attempts I had with lucid dream control, maybe it's just my brain but it does show that it ain't that easy even if it's possible.

I had a short stick-figure dream once, that was pretty cool. I was in a fairly normal dream where I realised I was dreaming, and as soon as that everything changed completely. The sky was just plain white, the ground was white with black lines running along it, I saw some stick figure people playing basketball and there were some 2d buildings off in the background. The people were drawn with fairly thick, straight black lines and their heads were circles with black outlines and bright colours inside. One with a lime-green head was bouncing the ball (which was just another circle with a black outline and a darker green inside) and another with a neon pink head near it. I looked past them and saw a few 2d buildings that were just more solid blocks of colour with black outlines and as I looked at one it started to look a bit more 3d and a few extra black lines appeared on it to give a bit more detail. It ended before I had a chance to do much though.

Sadly I didn't think to look down at myself to see if I was a stick figure either, pretty much all I was thinking was "shit, even my dreams suck at art"

I know that this isn't exactly what you are talking about, but it would be cool to visit one of these dimensions.

thats actually my next goal to make a new reality taking place in a steam punk fantasy rpg like era. I tried last night but failed but I did have a cool dream that involved some sex so it was all good. OMG but I made it to this other room with a chick (who unfortunately since i wasn't lucid was not really hot at all lol) and we got naked and were on the bed and..... MY PARENTS WAKE ME UP!!! I hate life when they wake me up plus I forgot a lot of my dream to. They don't respect the fact that I'm a lucid dreamer.

lol, for real, my dad WILL NOT let me LD at his house. He is like "why dont you just sleep like a normal person" and i try to explain it to him, and he just acts like it is escapism.
His house is the only place i get bored enough at to try and WILD in a nap, but he wakes me up when i go into SP

Apart from waking you, how is he gonna prevent you from having a DILD or something?

This same thing happens to me, right down to the "sims game." It's like my field of view is the game display, as if my field of view were a TV and they switched video modes from "eyes" to "computer game."

I had a dream the other night me and another guy where hanging out with Eric Cartman from South Park. He was sharing champagne with us and fancy cigarettes he stole from his mom. He took us for a car ride and crashed it into the river saying that it was a "shortcut". As we sank beneath the water he lit up a cigarette and I couldn't crack the window because all the water would come in.
