Actually, that could have something to do with it. A lot of medications can have negative effects on us, as they mess with our brain chemistry, mess with our other natural cycles, etc. Most of the medications that do this are things like prescription pain relievers, behaviour altering drugs (such as anti-depressants), and sometimes even sleep medications.
If you don't mind my asking; what are you taking? If it is nothing vital to your survival/being able to function while awake, I'd go off. However, if it's something that you'll be able to go off of in a couple of weeks, I'd let it take its course, and start back up with the dreaming when you go off. Until then, the meditation is a good thing to practice (in fact, it's always a good thing to practice).
