I have a whole list of things I'd like to try in a LD but every time I go lucid, it seems all I do is fly around or visit some useless place. How do I remember to work on my goals or do weekly tasks in my dreams?

Well from what i understand, it requires some mental discipline. (I'm having the same problem)
What i was told to do (since I'm a mantra user) is when I try to MILD, add something about my goal in the mantra. I'm trying to focus on one at a time now. How do you induce your LDs?
I do a lot of reality checks in waking life, so that usually makes me lucid. Especially the nose pinch one. I haven't used any specific techniques to become lucid, except for the DEILD.
When you become lucid in a dream try to become more lucid, the more lucid you become, the more you have access to your conscious mind without waking. If you don't know what I mean by more lucid just try it anyway
What my friend here is trying to say is to try to become more attentive. when you become lucid, ignore your Dream characters (at least for now, they'll try to distract you and make you lose lucidity. For some reason, most DCs hate it when you become lucid).Quote:

You can practice this everyday without looking like an idiot. for instance, in the room you are in, try to describe as much as you can to yourself, do this until something distracts you. Your goal in this case is just to focus on the immediate area. This will force you to focus on the dream world, and not possible excitement or the pesky DCs or the sensations of the waking world. (Sometimes, actually for me, all the time, you can feel both the dream world sensations and the real world sensations. Concentrate too much on the Real, and you'll wake yourself.)

You are so hooked on your DC's hating lucidity arn't you. Your DC's work the same way as everything else in your dream, with your thoughts so just want them to stop without stressing about it. You don't need to put much effort into them, just want them to stop, my DC's just do what I want without effort. For example if I want them to do something they do without any effort. (as long as i'm not stressed or worried about it like you are) So as long as you continue posting that you DC's hate lucidity and you beleive it, it won't get better.
If I were to ask you to list your dream goals right now, could you do that without thinking? Because in your dreams you don't get to think about it. :uhm: You won't be able to recall many of the things that you could have when awake. The thing(s) you're going to do need(s) to be at the top of your head because otherwise you'll just do what you're doing right now.Quote:

You needn't repeat this in your bed, just make a clear mental note of it (something you can answer from the top of your head). My point remains valid, that you need to concentrate on the dream world, try to feel more alert without getting excited. At least, that's the theory I'm putting into it.
